Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1980s cult NBC series Knight Rider created by Glen A. Larson and starring David Hasselhoff, Edward Mulhare, Patricia McPherson, Rebecca Holden and Peter Parros. The soundtrack selections of the show’s original score composed by Stu Phillips (Battlestar Galactica, Quincy, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century), including the content of the 2005 soundtrack release for the series on the first disc, and previously unreleased music on the second disc. The 2-CD set is limited to 2,000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. A vinyl edition will be coming out tomorrow on Record Store Day.

‘Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure’ Soundtrack Released
Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Disney Channel animated series Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. The album features the original songs from the show written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid) and Glenn Slater (Galavant, UglyDolls) and performed by cast members Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Eden Espinosa, Jeff Ross, James Monroe Iglehart and Fred Tatasciore. Also included are three tracks from the show’s original score composed by Kevin Kliesch (Sofia the First, Thundercats). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples.
‘The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Concert Special’ Soundtrack Released
WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album for The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Concert Special (Yes, It’s Really Us Singing!). The album features the songs from the special final episode of the series performed by cast members Rachel Bloom, Donna Lynne Champlin, Pete Gardner, David Hull, Scott Michael Foster and Skylar Astin. Most songs are written by Bloom herself, Adam Schlesinger and Jack Dolgen. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend created by Bloom & Aline Brosh McKenna just finished its series run last week.
Laura Karpman Scoring Discovery’s ‘Why We Hate’
Laura Karpman (Underground, Paris Can Wait, Step, Black Nativity) is scoring the upcoming Discovery docu-series Why We Hate. The show is directed by Geeta Gandbhir & Sam Pollard and investigates the human capacity for hatred and how we can overcome it. The 6-parter traces the evolutionary basis of hate and uses stories from past and present to reveal the nature of the primal and universal emotion. Steven Spielberg, Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) and Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, The Sixth Sense) are executive producing the Amblin Television & Jigsaw production with Stacey Offman, Richard Perello (Super Troopers), Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey (The Americans, The Haunting of Hill House), Yael Melamede, Erica Sashin and Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump, The Equalizer).
First Soundtrack Single for FX’s ‘Fosse/Verdon’ Released
Atlantic Records has released the first soundtrack for the new FX limited series Fosse/Verdon. The 3-track single features the show’s theme composed by Alex Lacamoire who serves as the project’s music director. Also included are the songs Big Spender and Cabaret performed by cast members Kelli Barrett, Bianca Marroquin and Reza Webb & The Fandango Girls. Visit Amazon to download the soundtrack. The label will release soundtracks featuring music from each episode weekly as the show airs over the next couple of weeks. Fosse/Verdon is developed by Steven Levenson & Thomas Kail based on Sam Wasson’s biography Fosse and stars Sam Rockwell, Michelle Williams, Norbert Leo Butz, Aya Cash, Nate Corddry, Evan Handler, Paul Reiser and Margaret Qualley. The drama explores the singular romantic and creative partnership between Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon over five decades.
Netflix’s ‘Chambers’ to Feature Music by James S. Levine
James S. Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story, The Weather Man) is the composer of the upcoming Netflix original series Chambers. The show is created by Leah Rachel and stars Sivan Alyra Rose, Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn. The supernatural drama follows a teenager – haunted by eerie visions and sinister impulses after a heart transplant – as she tries to unmask the truth behind her donor’s mysterious death. Rachel is also executive producing the project with Wolfgang Hammer (This Close) & Winnie Kemp for Super Deluxe, Stephen Gaghan (Syriana, Gold) for Super Emotional and Akela Coooper.
‘For the Throne’ (Music Inspired by ‘Game of Thrones’) Album Announced
Columbia Records and HBO have announced a soundtrack album featuring songs inspired by the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. Among the artists that have contributed new songs to the record are A$AP Rocky, Chloe X Halle, Ellie Goulding, Jacob Banks, James Arthur, Joey BadA$$, Lennon Stella, Lil Peep, Maren Morris, Matthew Bellamy, Mumford & Sons, Rosalía feat. A.CHAL, SZA, The Lumineers, The National, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign and X Ambassadors. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on April 26. ‘Vernon Subutex’ Soundtrack Album Released
Parlaphone France has released a soundtrack album for the French TV series Vernon Subutex. The album features a selection of songs from the show by artists such as The Modern Lovers, Wreckless Eric, Spacemen 3, Les Thugs, Wall of Voodoo, Mudhoney, Karen Dalton, Sonic Youth, Janis Joplin, New Order, Ramones & others. The soundtrack is now available in French music stores (visit the French iTunes store to listen to audio samples). No word yet on a domestic release. Vernon Subutex is directed by Cathy Verney and stars Romain Duris, Céline Sallette, Laurent Lucas, Philippe Rebbot, Florence Thomassin and Athaya Mokonzi.

Premiering on Wednesday, April 10, is the the horror thriller The Silence directed by John R. Leonetti and starring Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, Kiernan Shipka and John Corbett. The composer duo of tomandandy (47 Meters Down, The Strangers, The Mothman Prophecies) has composed the film’s original music. Adam Samuel Goldman Scoring CBS’ ‘The Code’
Adam Samuel Goldman is scoring the new CBS drama The Code. The show is created by Craig Sweeny (Elementary) & Craig Turk (FBI, The Good Wife) and stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany and Raffi Barsoumian. The series follows a group of prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who tackle the toughest legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps. Sweeny & Turk are also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Carl Beverly & Sarah Timberman (SEAL Team, Master of Sex), Christine Moore, as well as Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, (500) Days of Summer) who also directed the pilot episode.
