Torin Borrowdale (Searching) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original series Locke & Key. The show is created by Joe Hill (NOS4A2, Horns) based on the comic book franchise he co-created with Gabriel Rodriguez and stars Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Sherri Saum, Griffin Gluck, Darby Stanchfield, Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones and Thomas Mitchell Barnet. The fantasy horror drama revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities.

20th Century Fox TV Records has released the first tracks from the soundtrack for the second season of the FX original series Mayans M.C. Jeff Russo & Jordan Gagne Scoring USA’s ‘Treadstone’
Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of, Legion, The Umbrella Academy) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie) are teaming up to score the upcoming USA original series Treadstone. Russo has also composed the show’s main title theme. The drama is developed by Tim Kring (Heroes, Dig) based on the Bourne features and stars Jeremy Irvine, Michelle Forbes, Patrick Fugit, Michael Gaston, Shruti Haasan, Hyo Joo Han, Tess Haubrich and Tracy Ifeachor. The thriller is set amidst the CIA black ops program Operation: Treadstone and explores both the origin of the infamous covert program, as well as connecting to present-day special ops.
‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’ Soundtracks Released
The full details of the two soundtrack albums for the Netflix original series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance have been revealed. The Volume 1 album features music from the show composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) and the Volume 2 soundtrack features music by Pemberton and Samuel Sim (Awake, The Halcyon). The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance directed by Louis Leterrier and produced by the Jim Henson Company follows three young Gelflings as they inspire a rebellion against the cruel emperor when they discover a horrifying secret.
Soundtrack Album for ITV’s ‘Deep Water’ Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the ITV original series Deep Water. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by ToyDrum (aka Pablo Clements and James Griffith) (Prevenge, This Is England ’90, London Fields, Detour). Also included is the title song Static performed by Beth Orton who also co-wrote the track with the composers. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 13, 2019 and physically on September 20. Check back on this page for the purchase links. Deep Water is written by Anna Symon and stars Anna Friel, Sinead Keenan and Rosalind Eleazar. The 6-parter is based on the Windermere series of novels by Paula Daly and follows the lives of three spirited and complex women trying to do their best for their young families whilst facing tough choices.

’13 Reasons Why’ Season 3 Score Album Released
Paramount Music has released the third score album for the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s third season composed by Eskmo (Billions). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. As previously reported, Interscope Records is releasing a separate soundtrack featuring songs from Season 3 today. The label has also released score albums featuring Eskmo’s music from the first two seasons. The third season of 13 Reasons Why developed by Brian Yorkey based on the books by Jay Asher and starring Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Kate Walsh, Brian D’Arcy James, Alisha Boe, Derek Luke, Christian Navarro, Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice & Miles Heizer is premiering today on Netflix.
Ian Arber & Blur’s Dave Rowntree Scoring BBC’s ‘The Capture’
Ian Arber (Medici, My Name Is Lenny, After the Screaming Stops) and Blur drummer Dave Rowntree have composed the original score for the upcoming BBC series The Capture. The show is written and directed by Ben Chanan and stars Holliday Grainger, Callum Turner, Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen, Ben Miles, Laura Haddock, Lia Williams, Sophia Brown and Paul Ritter. The spy drama follows a soldier who returns to life as a free man with his young daughter after a conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence.
HBO’s ‘Mrs. Fletcher’ to Feature Music by Craig Wedren
Craig Wedren (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, The School of Rock, How to Be a Latin Lover) is the composer of the upcoming HBO original series Mrs. Fletcher. The show is created by Tom Perrotta (The Leftovers) based on his bestselling novel of the same title and stars Kathryn Hahn, Jackson White, Owen Teague, Katie Kershaw, Domenick Lombardozzi, Cameron Boyce, Jen Richards and Casey Wilson. The comedy single mother rediscovers her sexuality after her son heads off to college. Perrotta is also executive producing the project with Helen Estabrook (Whiplash, Tully).
Rachel Portman to Score BBC’s ‘Mimi and the Mountain Dragon’
BBC has announced that Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, The Vow, Never Let Me Go) is composing the original score for the upcoming animated TV special Mimi and the Mountain Dragon. The music will be performed by the BBC Philharmonic featuring singers from the Hallé’s family of choirs and will be recorded at Media City UK, Salford. The animated short about a village that quakes in fear of the mighty Mountain Dragon is based on the children’s book of the same title by Sir Michael Morpurgo (War Horse) and adapted for the screen by novelist, poet, and playwright, Owen Sheers.
