Brian Tyler has been hired to score the upcoming political drama Truth. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man, Zodiac, White House Down) and stars Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood and David Lyons. The movie is based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty by Mary Mapes about a series of memos critical of President George W. Bush’s Texas Air National Guard service record that had been discovered in the files of the president’s former commanding officer. Vanderbilt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project through Mythology Entertainment company, alongside Brad Fischer (Shutter Island, Zodiac), Doug Mankoff, Andy Spaulding , Mikkel Bondesen and William Sherak.

John Paesano Scoring ‘Same Kind of Different as Me’
John Paesano is scoring the upcoming drama Same Kind of Different as Me. The film is directed by Michael Carney and stars Renee Zellweger, Greg Kinnear, Djimon Hounsou, Olivia Holt and Jon Voight. The movie based on the book of the same title by Ron Hall, Denver Moore & Lynn Vincent (Heaven Is for Real) follows an international art dealer who must befriend a dangerous homeless man in order to save his struggling marriage to his wife. Carney has also written the screenplay with Hall and Alexander Foard. Mary Parent (Pacific Rim, Godzilla, Noah) and Cale Boyter are producing the project for Disruption Entertainment, alongside Hall, Darren Moorman and Stephen Johnson.
Hans Zimmer Scoring Peter Sollett’s ‘Freeheld’
Hans Zimmer is currently recording his score for the upcoming indie drama Freeheld. The film is directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Raising Victor Vargas) and stars Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Steve Carell, Michael Shannon, Gabriel Luno and Luke Grimes. The movie follows New Jersey police officer Laurel Hester and her police detective girlfriend who both battle to secure Hester’s pension benefits after she’s diagnosed with a terminal illness. Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia, The Painted Veil) has written the screenplay. Michael Shamberg & Stacey Sher (Erin Brokovich, Django Unchained, Get Shorty) are producing the project with Page, Kelly Bush, James D. Stern (Looper, I’m Not There), Richard Fischoff, Duncan Montgomery, Jack Selby and Cynthia Wade.
Theodore Shapiro to Score ‘Zoolander 2’
Theodore Shapiro is set to reunite with Ben Stiller on the upcoming comedy sequel Zoolander 2. The film stars Stiller himself in the title role, Owen Wilson who returns as Hansel, Will Ferrell as Mugatu, Christine Taylor as Matilda, as well as new addition Penélope Cruz. Stiller has written the screenplay with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2) and is also producing the project with Stuart Cornfeld (Dodgeball, Starsky & Hutch, The Fly). Shapiro has previously composed the music for Stiller’s previous two directorial efforts, Tropic Thunder and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Asif Kapadia’s ‘Amy’ to Feature Music by Antonio Pinto
Antonio Pinto has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Amy. The film is directed by Asif Kapadia (The Warrior, Far North, The Return) and chronicles British singer Amy Winehouse’s rise to fame with such hits like Rehab and Valerie before her untimely death at age 27 of alcohol poisoning. The movie features unseen archival footage and unheard tracks by Winehouse. James Gay-Rees (Exit Through the Gift Shop, The Quiet Ones) is producing the project for On The Corner Films. Pinto has previously collaborated with Kapadia on the documentaries Senna and the short The Odyssey.
Rob Simonsen Scoring Roland Emmerich’s ‘Stonewall’
Rob Simonsen has composed the music for the upcoming drama Stonewall. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Stargate, 2012, The Patriot) and stars Jeremy Irvine, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ron Perlman, Jonny Beauchamp, Joey King, Caleb Landry Jones, Karl Glusman, Vlademir Alexis, and Alexandre Nachi. The movie follows a young man in New York caught up during the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event widely considered the starting point for the modern gay civil rights movement. Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sister, The Slap) has written the screenplay. Emmerich is also producing the Centropolis Entertainment production with Michael Fossat, Marc Frydman (The Contender, Flyboys, Straw Dogs) and Carsten Lorenz.

Hans Zimmer is officially set to reteam with director Ron Howard on the upcoming film adaptation of Dan Brown’s bestselling novel Inferno. Tom Hanks returns to reprise his role as Robert Langdon and is joined by Felicity Jones as Dr. Sienna Brooks, Irrfan Khan as Harry Sims, Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder and Sidse Babett Knudsen as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey. The movie follows the Harvard symbolist as he wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia and teams up with a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s immortal tome. David Koepp (Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds) has written the screenplay.
Son Lux to Score ‘Paper Towns’
Son Lux aka Ryan Lott revealed in an interview with MTV that he is composing the score for the upcoming coming-of-age drama Paper Towns. The movie based on the bestselling novel by John Green (The Fault In Our Stars) is directed by Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank) and stars Nat Wolff, Cara Delevingne, Halston Sage, Austin Abrams, Jaz Sinclair and Justice Smith. Michael H. Weber & Scott Neustadter ((500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) have written the screenplay. The movie follows a young man and his friends embark upon the road trip of their lives to find the missing girl next door.
Carlo Siliotto to Score ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend’
Carlo Siliotto has signed on to score the upcoming martial arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend. The film is directed by Yuen Wo-Ping (Tai Chi Master) who has served as the martial arts choreographer on The Matrix trilogy and Kill Bill and stars Michelle Yeoh who is reprising her role as Yu Shu-Lien from the original film, as well as Donnie Yen as Silent Wolf. Harry Shum Jr., Jason Scott Lee, Roger Yuan, Eugenia Yuan and Natasha Liu Bordizzo are co-starring. No plot details have been announced yet, but the movie is said to tell a story of “lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption”. John Fusco (Marco Polo, Young Guns, Hidalgo) has written the screenplay based on the novel Iron Knight, Silver Vase by Wang Dulu.
Roque Banos to Score Kevin Reynold’s ‘Risen’
Roque Banos is set to compose the music for the upcoming biblical epic Risen. The film is directed by Kevin Reynolds (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Waterworld, The Count of Monte Cristo) and stars Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth and Cliff Curtis. The movie tells the story of the Resurrection and the weeks that followed, as seen through the eyes of an unbelieving Clavius, a high-ranking Roman Military Tribune. Mickey Liddell (The Grey, Go, Disconnect, Everwood) is producing the LD Entertainment production with Patrick Aiello (As Above, So Below, The Double) and Pete Shilaimon (In Secret).
