The film is directed by Alex Kurtzman (People Like Us) and stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, The Darkest Hours) is writing the screenplay. The reboot of The Mummy franchise is produced by Kurtzman, Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious series, Wanted) and Sean Daniel (The Mummy series, The Wolfman, Dazed and Confused).

Phil Mossman has recently scored the upcoming thriller Mercy. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have composed the music for the upcoming heist thriller Hell or High Water. The film is directed by David Mackenzie (Starred Up, Perfect Sense, Young Adam) and stars Chris Pine, Jeff Bridges and Ben Foster. The movie follows two brothers, an ex-con and a divorced father who face the foreclosure of their family’s farm and embark on a daring bank robbery spree. Taylor Sheridan (Sicario) has written the Black List-honored screenplay. Sidney Kimmel (Lars and the Real Girl, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Place Beyond the Pines), Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor), Carla Hacken and Julie Yorn (Unstoppable, We Bought a Zoo) are producing the project.

Jeff Beal has recently composed the music for the upcoming indie dramedy The Sweet Life. The film is directed by Rob Spera and stars Chris Messina, Abigail Spencer, Tyson Ritter and Maggie Siff. The movie follows a couple that meets in Chicago and makes a pact to drive to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide. Jared Rappaport has written the screenplay. Julie Lynn (Albert Nobbs, Passengers) and Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) are producing the project for Mockingbird Pictures.

Richard Patrick has been tapped to score the upcoming indie thriller True Crimes. The film is directed by Alexandros Avranas (Miss Violence) and stars Jim Carrey, Agata Kulesza, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kati Outinen, Zbigniew Zamachowski and Marton Czokas. The movie is based on a New Yorker article by David Grann and centers on a Polish murder investigation turning to clues found in a novelist’s book that bear a bizarre resemblance to the case. Jeremy Brock (The Last King of Scotland, Mrs. Brown, The Eagle) has written the screenplay. Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, The Family Man, X-Men: The Last Stand) and John Cheng (Barely Lethal) are producing the project with David Gerson (Skiptrace).

The composer duo of tomandandy has recently scored the upcoming thriller 47 Meters Down. The film is directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, Storage 24) and stars Mandy Moore, Claire Holt and Matthew Modine. The movie follows two fun-loving sisters on vacation who decide to go cage-diving to view great white sharks and find themselves trapped at the sea bottom with less than an hour of oxygen left in their tanks. Roberts has also written the screenplay with Ernest Riera (The Other Side of the Door). James Harris & Mark Lane (Cockneys vs Zombies) are producing the project.
Michael Giacchino to Score Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’
Michael Giacchino announced on Twitter that he will be scoring Marvel’s Doctor Strange. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. The movie based on the Marvel Comics character follows surgeon Stephen Strange who encounters the Ancient One after a career-ending car accident. Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, The Darkest Hour and C. Robert Cargill (Sinister) have written the screenplay. Kevin Feige (The Avengers, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy) is producing the project for Marvel Studios.

Matthew Compton has composed the original score for the upcoming comedy Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone who also star in the film alongside Andy Samberg, Imogen Poots, Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Maya Rudolph and Joan Cusack. The movie follows singer/rapper Conner4Real who faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops and his celebrity high life begins to collapse. Samberg, Schaffer & Taccone (collectively known as The Lonely Island) have also written the screenplay and are producing the project with Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Trainwreck, Knocked Up) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek).
John Williams to Score ‘Dear Basketball’ Animated Short
John Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated short Dear Basketball. The film is directed by Glen Keane who worked as an animator on such Disney classics as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Tangled. Retired NBA star Kobe Bryant is narrating the film, which is being described as an animated ode to basketball. He is also producing the project through his production company Kobe Studios, alongside Believe Entertainment Group.
Toby Chu to Score ‘Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania’ & Freeform’s ‘Beyond’
Toby Chu has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania. The film is directed by Henry Yu (story artist on Sym-Bionic Titan and Hotel Transylvania) and features the voices of WWE stars John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, WWE Diva Paige and Mr. McMahon. The sequel to the 2007 film follows Cody Maverick as he convinces an infamous big wave riding crew known as The Hang 5 to let him join them on their journey to a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches, where legend has it, they’ll find the biggest waves in the world. Abdul Williams (Lottery Ticket) is writing the screenplay and Michelle Wong is producing the Sony Pictures Animation and WWE Studios production.
