Daniel Hart Scoring Disney’s ‘Pete’s Dragon’
Daniel Hart has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming family adventure Pete’s Dragon and is currently recording his score at AIR Studios in London. The film is directed by David Lowery and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence and Robert Redford. The movie is based on the 1977 classic of the same title and tells the story of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon.. Lowery also co-wrote the screenplay with Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker (The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Finest Hours) is producing the project. Barrie Osborne (The Lord of the Rings) serves as an executive producer.

Jed Kurzel has signed on to compose the score for the upcoming feature adaptation of the video game series Assassin’s Creed. The film is directed by Justin Kurzel and stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson. The movie centers on Callum Lynch as he explores the memories of his ancestor and gains the skills of a Master Assassin. Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Sixth Sense) is producing the project with Arnon Milchan (The Revenant, 12 Years a Slave), Jean-Julien Baronnet, Conor McCaughan, Fassbender and Pat Crowley (The Bourne Trilogy).
Nate Walcott Scoring Zack Whedon’s ‘Come and Find Me’
Nate Walcott has recently composed the music for the upcoming indie drama Come and Find Me. The film is directed by Zack Whedon (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) and stars Aaron Paul, Annabelle Wallis, Garret Dillahunt and Zachary Knighton. The movie follows a man who must track down his missing girlfriend after he realizes she’s not who she was pretending to be. Whedon has also written the Black List-honored screenplay and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Midnight Special, Collide) is producing the project for Automatik Entertainment with Chris Ferguson (Grace, Air) for Oddfellows Entertainment.
Ken Loach’s ‘I, Daniel Blake’ to Feature Music by George Fenton
George Fenton is reteaming with director Ken Loach on the upcoming drama I, Daniel Blake. The film stars Dave Johns in the title role, alongside Hayley Squires. The movie follows a middle aged carpenter who requires state welfare after injuring himself, and is joined by a single mother in a similar scenario. Paul Laverty (The Angel’s Share, Even the Rain) has written the screenplay. Rebecca O’Brien is producing the project for Sixteen Films.
John Frizzell to Score ‘Leatherface’
John Frizzell has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface. The film is directed by Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury (Inside) and stars Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Sam Strike and Vanessa Grasse. The movie centers on a teenage Leatherface as he escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Seth M. Sherwood has written the screenplay. Christa Campbell & Lati Grobman (Criminal, Righteous Kill), Carl Mazzocone and Les Weldon (The Expendables, London Has Fallen) are producing the Millennium Films production.

The movie is set against the backdrop of East LA’s near-spiritual car and follows the story of a talented young street artist caught between the lowrider world inhabited by his old-school father and ex-con brother and the outlet that defines his self-expression. Josh Bierne-Gordon and Justin Tippin have written the screenplay based on previous drafts by Cheo Hodari Coker and Elgin James. Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) is producing the project for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for Blumhouse Productions.
