David Hirschfelder is scoring the upcoming comedy drama A Street Cat Named Bob. The film is directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies, Turner & Hooch, The 6th Day) and stars Luke Treadaway, Ruta Gedmintas, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head. The movie is based on James Bowen’s bestselling novel and tells the true story of the unlikely friendship between a young homeless busker and a stray ginger cat named Bob who changed his life. Tim John (Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde) and Maria Nation have written the screenplay. Adam Rolston is producing the project.

Danny Elfman to Return for ‘Fifty Shades Darker’
Danny Elfman has signed on to compose the music for the upcoming sequel Fifty Shades Darker. The film is directed by James Foley (Glengarry Glenn Ross, Confidence, Perfect Strangers) and stars Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Eric Johnson, Bella Heathcote, Arielle Kebbel and Kim Basinger. The movie continues the story from last year’s Fifty Shades of Grey, which Elfman also scored, and follows Christian as he wrestles with his inner demons, and Anastasia who must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her. Niall Leonard has written the screenplay based on E.L. James’ bestselling novel. Michael De Luca & Dana Brunetti (The Social Network, Captain Phillips, 21) are also producing the project with James.
Timothy Williams to Score John Moore’s ‘I.T.’
Timothy Williams has been hired to score the upcoming thriller I.T.. The film is directed by John Moore and stars Pierce Brosnan, Stefanie Scott, Anna Friel, James Frecheville and Michael Nyqvist. The movie follows a successful owner of a private jet business who finds himself pitted against a disgruntled young I.T. consultant who begins stalking his daughter and using technology to threaten his family, business and life. William Wisher (Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Judge Dredd) has written the screenplay based on an earlier script by Dan Kay. David T. Friendly (Little Miss Sunshine, Doctor Dolittle), Craig Flores (Charlie Countryman), Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe) and Beau St. Clair (The Thomas Crown Affair, Laws of Attraction) are producing the project.
Tyler Bates to Score David Leitch’s ‘The Coldest City’
Tyler Bates has been tapped to score the upcoming spy thriller The Coldest City. The film is directed by David Leitch and stars Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman and Sofia Boutella. The movie based on Antony Johnston’s graphic novel of the same title is set in Berlin during the Cold War era and follows a female spy who has to find a list of double agents who were being smuggled into the West. Kurt Johnstad (300, Act of Valor) has written the screenplay. Leitch and Theron are also producing the project with A.J. Dix (The Butterfly Effect), Beth Kono (Dark Places, Eric Gitter (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Kelly McCormick and Peter Schwerin.
Joby Talbot to Score Garth Jennings’ ‘Sing’
Joby Talbot is reteaming with director Garth Jennings on the upcoming animated feature Sing. The film is written and directed by Jennings and features the voice talent of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Kroll, Jennifer Saunders and Peter Serafinowicz. The movie follows a koala who recruits his best friend to help him drum up business for his theater by hosting a singing competition. It was previously announced that the animated comedy will also feature more than 85 songs. Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy (Despicable Me, Minions, The Lorax, The Secret Life of Pets) are producing the Illumination Entertainment production.
John Powell & David Buckley to Score Paul Greengrass’ ‘Jason Bourne’
John Powell and David Buckley have been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Jason Bourne. The film is directed by Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips) who previously helmed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum and stars Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones. The movie takes place seven years after The Bourne Ultimatum and follows the title character as he unexpectedly resurfaces at a time when the world is faced with unprecedented instability. Greengrass and editor Christopher Rouse have written the screenplay based on the characters created by Robert Ludlum. Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Sixth Sense) is producing the project with Jeffrey Weiner, Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman (X-Men: First Class) and Ben Smith.
Michael Andrews Scoring ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’
Michael Andrews is composing the score for the upcoming comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek) and stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Chloë Grace Moretz, Dave Franco, Ike Barinholtz, Carla Gallo, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kiersey Clemons and Beanie Feldstein. The movie follows Mac and Kelly who have a second baby on the way and learn that the new occupants next door are a sorority even more out of control than the frat boys they dealt with in the original movie. Rogen and Stoller have written the screenplay with Evan Goldberg and Andrew Jay Cohen. Rogen & Goldberg (This Is the End, The Interview) are also producing the project with James Weaver (The Night Before).

Danny Elfman has recently composed the music for the upcoming thriller The Circle. The film is directed by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, Smashed) and stars Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Patton Oswalt, Karen Gillian, Bill Paxton and Ellar Coltrane. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Dave Eggers (Where the Wild Things Are, Away We Go) and follows a young woman who joins a social-media company, where she steps in front of the camera and finds her identity threatened by her brush with the spotlight. Ponsoldt has also written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Hanks & Gary Goetzman (Charlie Wilson’s War, The Polar Express) and Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foxcatcher).
Harry Gregson-Williams to Score Niki Caro’s ‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’
Harry Gregson-Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama The Zookeeper’s Wife. The film is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country, McFarland, USA) and stars Jessica Chastain, Daniel Bruhl, Johan Heldenbergh, Michael McElhatton and Anna Rust. The movie is based on Diane Ackerman’s novel of the same title and tells the true story of Antonina Żabińska and her husband Dr. Jan Zabinski, the director of the Warsaw Zoo, who together used the zoo to help about 300 Jewish people escape from the Warsaw Ghetto after the Germans invaded Poland in September 1939. Angela Workman (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan) has written the screenplay. Jeff Abberley, Jamie Patricof (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine) and Kim Zubick are producing the project.
Aaron Zigman to Score ‘Almost Christmas’
Aaron Zigman is reuniting with director David E. Talbert on the upcoming comedy Almost Christmas. The film is written and directed by Talbert and stars Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, Romany Malco and Jessie T. Usher. The movie follows an estranged family forced to come together for their first Christmas since the death of the family matriarch. Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man, The Wedding Ringer, Obsessed) is producing the project through his production company. Zigman has previously scored Talbert’s last feature Baggage Claim starring Paula Patton.
