John Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated short Dear Basketball. The film is directed by Glen Keane who worked as an animator on such Disney classics as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Tangled. Retired NBA star Kobe Bryant is narrating the film, which is being described as an animated ode to basketball. He is also producing the project through his production company Kobe Studios, alongside Believe Entertainment Group.
Dear Basketball will be distributed exclusively on Sports Illustrated digital properties this fall. (Variety)
Williams’ other upcoming projects also include Steven Spielberg’s The BFG, which is set to open on July 1, 2016.
