Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish comedy The Olive Tree (El olivo). The album features the film’s original music composed by Pascal Gaigne (Loreak, Flowers). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The Olive Tree is directed by Iciar Bollain (Even the Rain) and stars Anna Castillo, Javier Gutierrez, Pep Ambros, Manuel Cucala and Miguel Angel Aladen. The movie follows a spirited young woman who travels from Spain to Germany to retrieve an ancient olive tree for her ailing grandfather. The comedy recently premiered at the Miami International Film Festival and will be released in Spain on May 6. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
