Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy A Difficult Year (Une année difficile). The album features a selection of the songs from the movie by artists such as Yuri Buenaventura, Jacques Brel, Chick, Jimi Hendrix and Yarol Poupaud, as well as instrumental tracks by GoGo Penguin and Grandbrothers. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A CD version is also being released overseas and will be available to order as an import here within the next couple of days. A Difficult Year is written and directed by Éric Toledano & Olivier Nakache (The Intouchables) and stars Pio Marmaï, Jonathan Cohen, Noémie Merlant and Mathieu Amalric. The movie follows two compulsive spenders who get much more than they bargained for when they try and scam their way out of trouble.

‘C’est La Vie’ to Feature Music by Avishai Cohen
Avishai Cohen is set to compose the music for the upcoming French comedy C’est La Vie. The film is directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache (The Intouchables, Samba) and stars Jean-Pierre Bacri, Vincent Macaigne , Kevin Azais, Suzanne Clement, Gilles Lellouche, Judith Chemla and Jean-Paul Rouve. The movie chronicles a crazed wedding party at an 18th century French castle from the perspectives of its caterer, photographer and DJ. Laurent Zeitoun, Yann Zenou and Nicolas Duval (Heartbreaker, A Perfect Plan) are producing the project for Quad Films.
Ludovico Einaudi to Score Olivier Nakache’s & Eric Toledano’s ‘Samba’
Ludovico Einaudi is reteaming with directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano on the upcoming French drama Samba. The film stars Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tahar Rahim and Izia Higelin. The movie follows a recent migrant to France who fights to stay in his adopted country with the help of a rookie immigration worker. Nackache & Toleedano have also written the screenplay. Yann Zenou, Laurent Zeitoun & Nicolas Duval-Adassovsky (Heartbreaker, A Perfect Plan) are producing the Quad Films, Ten Films and Gaumont production. Einaudi has previously scored the filmmakers’ previous feature The Intouchables, which became one of the all time highest-grossing movies in France in 2011. Samba is set to world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
