Dustin O’Halloran & Adam Wiltzie are currently scoring the upcoming French thriller The Shadow of Iris. The film is directed by Jalil Lespert (Yves Saint Laurent) who also stars in the film alongside Romain Duris, Charlotte Le Bon, Camille Cottin, Sophie Verbeeck and Adel Bencherif. The movie follows a mechanic caught up in a deadly false kidnapping plot. Wassim Béji (A Perfect Man, Headwin) is producing the project for WY Productions. The Shadow of Iris is set to be released in France on November 2, 2016.

Heitor Pereira to Score ‘The Nut Job 2’
Heitor Pereira has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature The Nut Job 2. The film is directed by Cal Brunker (Escape From Planet Earth) and features the voices of Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Gabriel Iglesias and Jeff Dunham who reprise their characters from the original movie. The sequel follows Surly Squirrel and his ragtag group of animal friends band as they come together to defeat the evil mayor of Oaktown who decides to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Brunker has also written the screenplay with Bob Barlen and Scott Bindley (Madison).
John Paesano Scoring ‘Almost Christmas’
John Paesano has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming comedy Almost Christmas. The film is written and directed by David E. Talbert (Baggage Claim, First Sunday) and stars Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, Romany Malco and Jessie T. Usher. The movie follows an estranged family forced to come together for their first Christmas since the death of the family matriarch. Will Packer (Ride Along, Obsessed, Think Like a Man) is producing the project.
Johann Johannsson Scoring James Marsh’s ‘Deep Water’
Johann Johannsson is reuniting with director James Marsh on the upcoming drama Deep Water. The film stars Colin Firth as fated amateur yachtsman Donald Crowhurst, alongside Rachel Weisz, David Thewlis, Ken Stott, and Jonathan Bailey. The movie chronicles Crowhurst’s attempt to complete the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race in 1968 and his subsequent attempts to cover up his failure. Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum, Contagion) has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, In Bruges). Johannsson has previously collaborated with Marsh on 2013’s Theory of Everything, for which the composer received the Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination.
A.R. Rahman Scoring Gurinder Chadha’s ‘Viceroy’s House’
A.R. Rahman is composing the music for the upcoming period drama Viceroy’s House. The film is directed by Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham) and stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Simon Callow, Lily Travers, Michael Gambon, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, Om Puri, Tanveer Ghani, Denzil Smith and Neeraj Kabi. The movie chronicles the life inside Viceroy’s House, the sumptuous Delhi home of the British rulers of India, and the momentous political decisions that led to the Partition of India in 1947. Chadha has also co-written the screenplay with Paul Mayeda Berges and Moira Buffini (Jane Eyre, Tamara Drewe).
David Julyan Scoring Xavier Gens’ ‘The Crucifixion’
David Julyan has recently recorded his score for the upcoming supernatural thriller The Crucifixion. The film is directed by Xavier Gens (Hitman, The Divide) and stars Sophie Cookson, Javier Botet, Alexis Rodney and Radu Andrei Micu. The movie is based on the true story of a priest who was convicted of murdering a nun after performing an exorcism on her. Chad and Carey Hayes (The Conjuring, The Reaping, House of Wax) have written the screenplay. They are also producing the project with Peter Safran (Annabelle, Buried), Leon Clarance (Sense8), Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel and Ara Keshishian (Maggie).
Rachel Portman Scoring Lone Scherfig’s ‘Their Finest Hour and a Half’
Rachel Portman has recently recorded her score for the upcoming screwball comedy Their Finest Hour and a Half. The film is directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, Italian for Beginners) and stars Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy, Sam Claflin, Jack Huston and Claudia Jessie. The movie is based on the novel by Lissa Evans and follows a British movie crew trying to make a patriotic film to boost morale after the Blitz during World War II, only for a battle of the sexes to ensue. Gaby Chiappe has written the screenplay. Amanda Posey (Brooklyn, Fever Pitch) & Stephen Woolley (Interview with the Vampire, Carol, The Crying Game) are producing the BBC Films and HanWay production.
Alberto Iglesias to Score Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’
It was announced today that Alberto Iglesias is set to compose the music for Terry Gilliam’s upcoming film adaptation of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The film starring Adam Driver, Michael Palin and Olga Kurylenko follows a jaded young advertising executive who returns to the Spanish village where he made a film based on Cervantes’ masterpiece years earlier and meets a villager who believes himself to be Don Quixote as he gets swept up in a fantastic extravaganza complete with damsels in distress, knights and giants. Gilliam (Brazil, The Fisher King, The Brothers Grimm) has also co-written the screenplay with Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Tideland). Paolo Branco (Cosmopolis) is producing the project.
‘C’est La Vie’ to Feature Music by Avishai Cohen
Avishai Cohen is set to compose the music for the upcoming French comedy C’est La Vie. The film is directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache (The Intouchables, Samba) and stars Jean-Pierre Bacri, Vincent Macaigne , Kevin Azais, Suzanne Clement, Gilles Lellouche, Judith Chemla and Jean-Paul Rouve. The movie chronicles a crazed wedding party at an 18th century French castle from the perspectives of its caterer, photographer and DJ. Laurent Zeitoun, Yann Zenou and Nicolas Duval (Heartbreaker, A Perfect Plan) are producing the project for Quad Films.
Paul Haslinger to Score ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’
Paul Haslinger has been hired to score the upcoming sci-fi action sequel Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. The film is written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (AVP: Alien vs. Predator, Pompeii) and stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and Rola. The movie follows Alice as she returns to Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. Anderson is also producing the Constantin Film production with Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil series), Robert Kulzer (Wrong Turn, Fantastic Four) and Samuel Hadida (True Romance, Silent Hill).
