The movie revolves around two college-age childhood friends who reunite for a humid New England summer to help each other deal with a traumatizing experience from their past. Marcelo Zarvos has signed on to score the upcoming drama Wonder. The film is directed by Steven Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and stars Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Noah Jupe, Bryce Gheisar, Izabela Vidovic, Danielle Rose Russell, Millie Davis, Elle McKinnon, Daveed Diggs and Mandy Patinkin. The movie is based on the book of the same title by R.J. Palacio and centers on a young boy born with a facial deformity who is destined to fit in at a new school, and to make everyone understand he’s just another ordinary kid. Jack Thorne (How I Live Now, A Long Way Down) and Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) wrote the screenplay.

Mark Mothersbaugh has composed the score for the upcoming comedy Beatriz at Dinner. The film is directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl, Youth in Revolt, Cedar Rapids) and stars Salma Hayek, John Lithgow, Chloe Sevigny, Connie Britton, Jay Duplass, Nina Arianda, Amy Landecker and John Early. The movie centers on the relationship between an immigrant from a poor town in Mexico who has drawn on her innate kindness to build a career as a health practitioner and a cutthroat, self-satisfied billionaire who meet at a dinner party. Mike White (School of Rock, Orange County, Nacho Libre) wrote the screenplay.
Fernando Velazquez to Score ‘Marrowbone’
Fernando Velazquez has been tapped to score the upcoming psychological thriller Marrowbone. The film marks the directorial debut of writer Sergio G. Sanchez (The Orphanage, The Impossible, Palm Trees in the Snow) and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Mia Goth, George Mackay and Charlie Heaton. The movie revolves around four children who hide from the world after their mother’s death on a farm that holds a terrible secret. Sanchez also wrote the screenplay. J.A. Bayona is producing the project with Alvaro Augustin (Pan’s Labyrinth, Agora), Belen Atienza and Ghislain Barros.

Todor Kobakov Scoring Per Fly’s ‘Backstabbing for Beginners’
Todor Kobakov is currently recording his score for the upcoming thriller Backstabbing for Beginners. The film is directed by Per Fly (The Inheritance, Monica Z) and stars Theo James, Ben Kingsley and Jacqueline Bisset. The movie follows a young idealist who lands his dream job as a program coordinator for the U.N.’s Oil for Food program and is thrown into a post-war Iraq where government agents and power-hungry nations are circling the country’s oil reserves. Fly also co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Pyne (The Manchurian Candidate, Fracture, The Sum of All Fears), inspired by Michael Soussan’s memoir of the same title.
Mandy Hoffman to Score Azazel Jacobs’ ‘The Lovers’
Mandy Hoffman is reteaming with director Azazel Jacobs on the upcoming indie comedy The Lovers. The film is written and directed by Jacobs and stars Debra Winger, Tracy Letts, Aidan Gillen, Melora Walters, Tyler Ross and Jessica Sula. The movie follows a long-married couple whose romantic spark dwindles in the midst of their respective affair. However, when they sit down to call it quits, they find themselves suddenly and unexpectedly falling back in love again. Ben LeClair (Upstream Color, Year of the Dog) and Chris Stinson are producing the project. Hoffman has previously collaborated with Jacobs on all of his previous movie, most notable the 2011 feature Terri starring John C. Reilly.

Marcus Miller has recently composed the music for the upcoming biographical drama Marshall. The film is directed by Reginald Hudlin and stars Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens, James Cromwell, Sterling K. Brown and Keesha Sharp. Trial lawyer Michael Koskoff has written the screenplay with his son, Jacob Koskoff (Macbeth). Hudlin (Django Unchained) is also producing the project with Paula Wagner (Mission: Impossible series, The Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky) is producing through her Chestnut Ridge Productions banner along with Jonathan Sanger (The Elephant Man, The Producers).
