Ramin Djawadi has been hired to score the upcoming fantasy drama A Wrinkle in Time. The film is directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma, 13th) and stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Guru Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peňa, Levi Miller, Deric McCabe, André Holland, Rowan Blanchard, Zach Galifianakis, Chris Pine and Storm Reid. The movie based on the novel by Madeleine L’Engle follows a group of children as they travel through time and visit strange worlds in order to find their missing father, a scientist. Jennifer Lee (Frozen, Wreck-It-Ralph) wrote the screenplay.

Brian Byrne Scoring Lance Daly’s ‘Black 47’
Brian Byrne is composing the original music for the upcoming Irish drama Black 47. The film is directed by Lance Daly (Kisses) and stars Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent, Stephen Rea, James Frecheville, Freddie Fox, Moe Dunford and Barry Keoghan. The movie is set in Ireland during the Great Famine and follows an Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, as he abandons his post to reunite with his family. Daly also co-wrote the screenplay with PJ Dillon, Pierce Ryan and Eugene O’Brien.
Geoff Zanelli to Score ‘Motivated Seller’ & ‘Red Shoes & the 7 Dwarfs’
Geoff Zanelli is reuniting with director Deon Taylor on the upcoming psychological thriller Motivated Seller. The movie starring Michael Ealy, Dennis Quaid, Meagan Good and Joseph Sikora follows a young couple who move into their dream house in the county, unaware the previous owner who has his eyes on the house and the young woman. David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, Passenger 57) wrote the screenplay. Taylor is also producing he project with, Roxanne Avent & Robert F. Smith (Meet the Blacks), Mark Burg (Saw series), David Guillod, Brad Kaplan (Look Away) and Jonathan Schwartz.
Mateo Messina to Score Kay Cannon’s ‘The Pact’
Mateo Messina has signed on to score the upcoming comedy The Pact. The film marks the directorial debut of writer/producer Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect, New Girl, Girlboss) and stars Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz and John Cena. The movie follows three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night, go out and try and stop them before it’s too late. Eben Russell, Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), and Brian & Jim Kehoe wrote the screenplay. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg & James Weaver (This Is the End, Neighbors) are producing the project with Hurwitz & Schlossberg and Chris Fenton (Chappaquiddick).
Johann Johannsson & Hildur Guðnadóttir to Score Garth Davis’ ‘Mary Magdalane’
Johann Johannsson and Hildur Guðnadóttir are scoring the upcoming drama Mary Magdalene. The film is directed by Garth Davis (Lion) and stars Rooney Mara in the title role, Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus Christ, Tahar Rahim as Judas Iscariot and Helen Edmundson and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Peter the Apostle. Philippa Goslett (An Inspector Calls) wrote the screenplay. Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (The King’s Speech, Shame, Macbeth) are producing the project for See-Saw Pictures, alongside Liz Watts (Animal Kingdom, The Rover). Atli Orvarsson is reteaming with director David M. Rosenthal on the upcoming action thriller How It Ends. The film starring Theo James, Kat Graham, Forest Whitaker and Kerry Bishe revolves around a mysterious apocalyptic event that turns the roads into mayhem, and follows a young father who will stop at nothing to get home to his pregnant wife on the other side of the country. Brooks McLaren wrote the Black List-honored screenplay. Paul Schiff (My Cousin Vinny, Rushmore), Tai Duncan (Into the Grizzly Maze), Kelly McCormick (Atomic Blonde) and Patrick Newall (The Keeping Room) are producing the project.

Cliff Martinez has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Game Night. The film is directed by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation, Spider-Man: Homecoming) and stars Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler, Jesse Plemons, Jeffrey Wright, Lamorne Morris, Kylie Bunbury and Billy Magnussen. The movie follows several couples who gather for their regularly-planned game night and find themselves trying to solve a murder mystery. Bateman is also producing the New Line Cinema production with James Garavente (The Family Fang), as well as John Davis (Predator, I, Robot, The Firm) and John Fox (The Blacklist).
Marc Streitenfeld Scoring Joshua Marston’s ‘Come Sunday’
Marc Streitenfeld is composing the original music for the upcoming drama Come Sunday. The film is written and directed by Joshua Marston (Maria Full of Grace, Complete Unknown) and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Martin Sheen, Jason Segel, Condola Rashad, Danny Glover and Lakeith Stanfield. The movie is based on a 2005 This American Life segment entitled Heretics and tells the story of a minister in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who loses his congregation of thousands following the revelation that he no longer believes in hell. Marcus Hinchey (All Good Things) wrote the screenplay. Ira Glass (Don’t Think Twice, Sleepwalk with Me), Alissa Shipp and James D. Stern (Looper, I’m Not There.) are producing the project.
Nathan Barr to Score Eli Roth’s ‘The House with a Clock in Its Walls’
Nathan Barr is set to reunite with director Eli Roth on the upcoming gothic horror movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Jack Black and Cate Blanchett are attached to star in the film based on John Bellairs’ 1973 book of the same title about a recently orphaned 10-year-old boy who discovers a world of hidden passageways, magic, and danger in his uncle’s old house. Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless) wrote the screenplay and will also producing the Amblin Entertainment and Mythology Entertainment production with Brad Fischer (Shutter Island) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Truth).
Andrew Kawczynski Scoring ‘Sky Hunter’
Andrew Kawczynski has recently recorded his music for the upcoming Chinese war action drama Sky Hunter. Hans Zimmer serves as the score producer. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Li Chen who also stars in the movie alongside Fan Bingbing, Wang Qianyuan, Li Jiahang and Leon Lee. The movie follows an elite air force who are called into action to resolve a hostage crisis and foil a terrorist plot. Jianmin Lv (Wolf Warrior) is producing the project. Kawczynski has previously contributed additional music to numerous scores by Zimmer, including Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Chappie.
