Universal Pictures has announced today that Michael Abels will be reteaming with Jordan Peele on the upcoming social thriller Us. The film is written and directed by Peele and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Anna Diop. No plot details have been announced yet. Peele is also producing the project with Sean McKittrick (Donnie Darko, Bad Words), Jason Blum (The Purge, Paranormal Activity) and Ian Cooper.

Tyler Bates & Joel J. Richard to Return for ‘John Wick 3: Parabellum’
Tyler Bates and Joel J. Richard are set to return as the composers for the upcoming action sequel John Wick 3: Parabellum. The film is directed by Chad Stahelski who helmed the previous installment and co-directed the first part in the series and stars Keanu Reeves,Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick who will reprise their roles from the previous movies. They are joined by Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Jason Mantzoukas, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman and Tiger Hu Chen.
Mark Isham Scoring Dan Pritzker’s ‘Bolden’
Mark Isham has recently recorded his score for the biographical drama Bolden. The film is co-written and directed by Dan Pritzker and stars Gary Carr, Erik LaRay Harvey, Ian McShane, Breon Pugh, Reno Wilson, Yaya DaCosta and Michael Rooker. The movie tells the story of Buddy Bolden, a New Orleans cornet player who was a key figure in the development of ragtime music. Jon Cornick & Michele Tayler (Lymelife) are producing the project.
Bear McCreary to Score Gregory Plotkin’s ‘Hell Fest’
Bear McCreary has signed on to score the upcoming horror thriller Hell Fest. The film is directed by Gregory Plotkin (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) and stars Amy Forsyth, Reign Edwards, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Christian James, Roby Attal, Matt Mercurio and Tony Todd. The movie revolves around a masked serial killer who turns a horror themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show. Seth M. Sherwood (Leatherface) wrote the screenplay.
Jesper Kyd Scoring ‘Tumbbad’
Jesper Kyd has recently composed the music for the upcoming Indian fantasy thriller Tumbbad. The film directed by Rai Anil Barve & Adesh Prasad is set in 19th-century colonial India and is being described as a “fast-paced parable about greed.” Anand L Rai, Amita Shah, Mukesh Shah and Sohum Shah are producing the project. Kyd who is best for his video game scores in the Assassin’s Creed, Hitman and Borderlands series has previously scored movies including Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe and TV shows such as Metal Hurlant Chronicles.
Daniel Pemberton to Score ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’
Daniel Pemberton is currently working on the score for the upcoming animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The film is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians) & Rodney Rothman and features the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez and Lily Tomlin. Phil Lord wrote the screenplay and is also producing the Sony Pictures Animation production with Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street), Amy Pascal (The Post, Spider-Man: Homecoming), Avi Arad (Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Christina Steinberg (Bee Movie).

Jonathan Goldsmith is composing the music for the upcoming horror comedy Dreamland. The film is directed by Bruce McDonald (Pontypool, Weirdos) and stars Stephen McHattie, Juliette Lewis, Tómas Lemarquis and Henry Rollins. The movie centers on a reluctant hitman who chases his jazz legend doppelganger through a city populated by street urchins, a vampire, and a crime kingpin. Tony Burgess (Pontypool) and Patrick Whistler wrote the screenplay. Amber Ripley (Dead Shack), Jesus Gonzalez and Sebastian Schelenz are producing the project.

Benjamin Wallfisch is reuniting with David F. Sandberg on the upcoming superhero movie Shazam!. The film stars Zachary Levi in the title role, alongside Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Rosa Vasquez and Ron Cephas Jones. The movie based on the DC Comic characters tells the story of a boy who is given the ability to become an adult superhero in times of need with a single magic word.
Bear McCreary to Score Mike Doughterty’s ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’
Bear McCreary has been tapped to score the upcoming monster movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film is directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus, Trick ‘r Treat) and stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch and Ziyi Zhang. The movie follows a group of members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as they face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

Fall Out Boy lead singer Patrick Stump has recently composed the music for the upcoming comedy drama Changeland. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Seth Green who also stars in the movie alongside Breckin Meyer, Brenda Song, Clare Grant, Macaulay Culkin, Rose Williams, Kedar Williams-Stirling and Randy Orton. The movie follows a man undergoing a personal crisis as he meets up in Thailand with his self-assured best friend. Green also wrote the screenplay.
