Eric Serra is currently scoring the upcoming action thriller Anna. The film is directed by Luc Besson and stars Sasha Luss in the title role, alongside Helen Mirren, Luke Evans and Cillian Murphy. No plot details have been revealed yet. Besson is also producing the EuropaCorp production. Serra has previously scored most of Besson’s directorial efforts, including Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita, The Big Blue and Lucy.

Toydrum to Score ‘A Guide to Second Date Sex’
Toydrum (aka Pablo Clements and James Griffith) (Detour, Prevenge, Future World) have been hired to score the British comedy A Guide to Second Date Sex. The film marks the directorial debut of Rachel Hirons (Powder Room) and stars George MacKay, Emma Rigby, Holli Dempsey, Kae Alexander, Tom Bell and Michael Socha. The movie is based on Hirons’ own play and follows two young people who, having been bruised by previous relationships, embark on a second date with no idea of what they are supposed to do. Hirons also wrote the screenplay.
Harry Escott Scoring Michael Winterbottom’s ‘The Wedding Guest’
Harry Escott is reuniting with director Michael Winterbottom on the upcoming drama The Wedding Guest. The film is written and directed by Winterbottom (Wonderland, The Claim) and stars Dev Patel, Sidhu Manpreet, Nish Nathwani, Radhika Apte and Jim Sarbh. The movie follows a mysterious, young British man on his journey across Pakistan and India. Melissa Parmenter is producing the project with Deepak Nayar (Lost Highway, Bend It Like Beckham).
Evgueni & Sacha Galperine to Score Francois Ozon’s ‘Alexandre’
Evgueni Galperine and Sacha Galperine (Loveless, The Family, The Wizard of Lies, Nine Lives, The Past) are composing the music for the upcoming French/Belgian drama Alexandre. The film is written and directed by Francois Ozon and stars Melvil Poupaud, Denis Ménochet and Swann Arlaud. Éric Altmayer & Nicolas Altmayer (Saint Laurent, On the Other Side of the Tracks) are producing the project.
Paul Leonard-Morgan Scoring Errol Morris’ ‘American Dharma’
Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, Dynasty) is reteaming with director Errol Morris on the upcoming documentary American Dharma. The movie is being described as a dialogue between the Academy Award-winning filmmaker and Donald Trump’s former strategist Steve Bannon. Leonard-Morgan has previously collaborated with Morris (The Fog of War, The Thin Blue Line, Standard Operating Procedure) on the feature The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography and last year’s Netflix docu-series Wormwood.
Paul Haslinger Scoring Richard Shepard’s ‘The Perfection’
Paul Haslinger is composing the music for the upcoming horror thriller The Perfection. The film is directed by Richard Shepard and stars Allison Williams, Logan Browning, Steven Weber and Alaina Huffman. The movie follows a former cellist who meets a rising star with the career she’s always wanted and her jealousy drives her to take revenge on the prodigy. Shepard also co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder (Midnight, Texas, Ringer). He is also producing the Miramax production with Bill Block (Bad Moms, Fury, Elysium) and Stacey Reiss (The Eagle Huntress).

Joseph Bishara has been hired to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Prodigy. The film is directed by Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At the Devil’s Door) and stars Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, Peter Mooney, Colm Feore and Brittany Allen. The movie follows a mother who is concerned about her young son’s disturbing behavior and starts to think that something supernatural may be affecting him. Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train) wrote the screenplay.
Matthew Margeson to Reunite with Dexter Fletcher’s on Elton John Biopic ‘Rocketman’
Composer Matthew Margeson is reuniting with director Dexter Fletcher on the upcoming biographical drama Rocketman. The film stars Taron Egerton as Elton John, Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden and music manager John Reid, as well as Bryce Dallas Howard as John’s mother. The movie explores John’s emergence as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to becoming a music superstar and his partnership with songwriting collaborator Taupin. Lee Hall (War Horse, Billy Elliot) wrote the screenplay.

Fajar Yuskemal and Aria Prayogi have composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original movie Apostle. The film is written and directed by Gareth Evans and stars Dan Stevens, Lucy Boynton, Mark Lewis Jones, Bill Milner, Kristine Froseth, Paul Higgins and Michael Sheen. The thriller follows a man who travels to a remote island in search of his missing sister, who was kidnapped by a murderous religious cult. Evans is also producing the project with Aram Tertzakian (Holidays) and Ed Talfan.
Dustin O’Halloran & Hauschka to Score Simon Curtis’ ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’
Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) have signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama The Art of Racing in the Rain. The film is directed by Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn, Goodbye Christopher Robin) and stars Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried, Gary Cole, Kathy Baker and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. The movie is based on Garth Stein’s best-selling novel of the same title and centers on a family dog (voiced by Kevin Costner) who evaluates his life through the lessons learned by his human owner, a professional race-car driver. Mark Bomback (Dawn for/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Wolverine) wrote the screenplay.
