Heitor Pereira is set to return as the composer of the upcoming animated sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2. The film is directed by Thurop Van Orman (The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack), co-directed by John Rice and features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Bill Hader, Danny McBride and Peter Dinklage who will reprise their roles from the 2016 original movie. They are joined by Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Zach Woods, Awkwafina, Lil Rel Howery, Dove Cameron, Beck Bennett and Brooklynn Prince. Peter Ackerman (Ice Age) is writing the screenplay. John Cohen (Despicable Me) returns as the producer of the Sony Pictures Animation and Rovio Entertainment production. The Angry Birds Movie 2 is set to be released on September 6, 2019 by Sony Pictures.
