Sacha Chaban has been hired on to compose the score for the upcoming crime thriller Anderson Falls. The film is directed by Julien Seri (Yamakasi, Night Fare) and stars Shawn Ashmore, Gary Cole, Daniella Alonso, Richard Harmon, Vahina Giocante, Sonya Walger and Lin Shaye. The movie revolves around a detective who becomes convinced that his wife’s suicide is a murder and finds out that she was the victim of a team of father-and-son serial killers. Giles Daoust (Painkillers) wrote the screenplay.

Duncan Thum (Chef’s Table, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, Dealt) has signed on to score the upcoming drama Brittany Runs a Marathon. The film is written and directed by Paul Downs Colaizzo and stars Jillian Bell, Michaela Watkins, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lil Rel Howery, Micah Stock and Alice Lee. The movie follows an underachieving and over-partied 28-year-old woman who decides to take control of her life – one New York City block at a time.
Lorne Balfe to Score Michael Bay’s ‘6 Underground’
Lorne Balfe has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller 6 Underground. The film is directed by Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon, The Rock) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Corey Hawkins, Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Adria Ariona, Manuel Garcia-Ruffo, Ben Hardy, Lior Raz and Payman Maadi. No plot details have been announced yet for the Netflix original movie, which is scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland). Bay is also producing the project with Ian Bryce (Saving Private Ryan, Twister), as well as Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg & Don Granger (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation).
Deadmau5 to Score Jonas Akerlund’s ‘Polar’
Electronic music artist/DJ Deadmau5 announced on Twitter today that he is making his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming Netflix original movie Polar. The film is directed by Jonas Akerlund (Lords of Chaos) and stars Mads Mikkelsen, Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick and Matt Lucas. The action thriller is based on the Dark Horse action noir graphic novel Polar: Came From the Cold by Victor Santoson and revolves around the world’s top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser, who comes out of retirement to go head to head with an army of ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.
John Debney Scoring Todd Strauss-Schulson’s ‘Isn’t It Romantic’
John Debney has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming romantic comedy Isn’t It Romantic. The film is directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, The Final Girls) and stars Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth, Adam Devine, Priyanka Chopra and Betty Gilpin. The centers on a cynical woman who discovers that her life has become a romantic comedy, and she goes from sidekick to center stage.
Lesley Barber to Score ‘Adventures of a Mathematician’
Lesley Barber is attached to score the upcoming biographical drama Adventures of a Mathematician. The film is written and directed by Thorsten Klein (Lost Place) and stars Philippe Tlokinski, Esther Garrel, Sam Keeley and Joel Basman. The movie tells the story of legendary Polish-American scientist Stanislaw Ulam, whose work contributed to the development of the hydrogen bomb as well as computers.
Clint Mansell to Score Agata Alexander’s ‘Warning’
Clint Mansell is set to score the upcoming sci-fi thriller Warning. The film marks the feature directorial debut of music video director Agata Alexander and will star James D’Arcy, Laura Harrier, Charlotte Le Bon, Mena Massoud, Alex Pettyfer, Lana Condor and Benedict Samuel. The movie explores loneliness, death and the meaning of life when vastly disparate lives collide in interweaving stories set in a near future Earth. Alexander also co-wrote the screenplay with Rob Michaelson and Jason Kaye.
Mason Daring Scoring ‘Moynihan’ Documentary
Mason Daring (Where the Heart Is, A Walk on the Moon, The Opposite of Sex, Lone Star, Music of the Heart) has recently composed the music for the upcoming documentary Moynihan. The film is directed by Joseph Dorman (Colliding Dreams, Arguing the World) & Toby Perl Freilich and centers on Daniel Patrick Moynihan (1927-2013), the seminal public intellectual and sociologist, policy specialist, ambassador and long serving New York senator. Jeffrey Wright is narrating the movie, which features interviews with Ta-Nehisi Coates, Eleanor Holmes Norton, George Will, Henry Kissinger, among others.
Natalie Holt to Score ‘Knightfall’ Season 2 & ITV’s ‘Beecham House’
Natalie Holt has been hired to score the second season of the History original series Knightfall. The show is created by Don Handfield & Richard Rayner and stars Tom Cullen,Bobby Schofield, Sabrina Bartlett, Julian Ovenden and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina. They are joined in Season 2 by new cast members Mark Hamill, Tom Forbes and Genevieve Gaunt. The show follows the famed Knights Templar in their search for the Holy Grail. Aaron Helbing (The Flash) has joined the drama this year as the project’s new showrunner.

Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Revenge, Plantarium) has composed the music for the upcoming sci-fi drama Cities of Last Things. The film is written and directed by Ho Wi Ding and stars Jack Kao, Li Hong-Chi, Louise Grinber, Ding Ning, Stone, Huang Lu, Liu Rui-Chi, Hsin Yin, Liu Juei-Chi and Shin Yin. The movie is told in reverse-chronological order and follows a depressed, ex-police officer pining for a lost love and fighting with his unfaithful wife about their long-soured relationship.
