The film is directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty, Opal Dream, The Rocker) and will star Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan. The movie is inspired by a BBC factual series about a choirmaster who selects and trains amateur singers and follows a group of wives and girlfriends of soldiers serving abroad who form a choir on a military base.

Thomas Newman is reteaming with director John Lee Hancock on the upcoming Netflix original movie The Highwaymen. The crime drama starring Kevin Costner, Woody Harrelson, Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, Kim Dickens, Thomas Mann and William Sadler is based on the true events of Texas Ranger Frank Hamer and ex-partner Maney Gault, who are drawn out of retirement in a last-ditch effort to hunt down Bonnie and Clyde. John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo, Marco Polo) wrote the screenplay with Hancock and Scott Frank (Godless, Out of Sight, Logan).
The Newton Brothers to Score Michael Goi’s ‘Mary’
The Newton Brothers have been tapped to score the upcoming supernatural thriller Mary. The film is directed by Michael Goi (Megan Is Missing) and stars Gary Oldman, Emily Mortimer, Owen Teague, Jennifer Esposito, Stefanie Scott, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Chloe Perrin. The movie centers on a family that buys an old ship at auction and discovers the ship’s secrets once they are out on the isolated open waters. Anthony Jaswinski (The Shallows) wrote the screenplay.

Jeff Beal has recently recorded his score for the upcoming documentary The Biggest Little Farm. The film is directed by John Chester (Rock Prophecies, Euphoria) and follows the filmmaker and his wife Molly Chester, a culinary writer, who trade city life to start their own farm on a stretch of depleted soil outside Los Angeles. Chester is also producing the project with Sandra Keats who previously served as a co-producer and associate producer on the Beal-scored documentaries Generation Wealth and Last Call at the Oasis.
