Composer Will Bates is reuniting with director Mike Cahill on the upcoming sci-fi drama Bliss. The film is written and directed by Cahill and stars Salma Hayek, Owen Wilson, Madeline Zima, Jorge Lendenborg Jr., Joshua Leonard and DeRon Horton. The movie follows a recently divorced man – whose life is falling apart – as he meets a woman who lives on the streets and is convinced that the polluted, broken world around them is not real. James D. Stern (Looper, I’m Not There, The Brothers Bloom) is producing the Endgame Entertainment production.

Kris Bowers to Score Malcolm D. Lee’s ‘Space Jam 2’
Kris Bowers (Green Book, Dear White People, When They See Us, Monsters and Men) has been hired to score the upcoming sports comedy sequel Space Jam 2. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip, Undercover Brothers) and stars LeBron James as himself, as well as Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green and Ceyair J. Wright. The movie follows the NBA superstar as he teams up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes James is also producing the project with Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Creed), Duncan Henderson (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World , Oblivion) and Maverick Carter (Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker).
Lisbeth Scott to Score Marc Meyers’ ‘All My Life’
Lisbeth Scott (Tumble Leaf, American Son, Justine, I Am Somebody’s Child: The Regina Louise Story) has signed on to score the upcoming romantic drama All My Life. The film is directed by Marc Meyers (My Friend Dahmer, Human Capital) and stars Jessica Rothe, Harry Shum Jr., Michael Masini, Chrissie Fit, Greg Vrotsos, Jay Pharoah, Marielle Scott, Kyle Allen, Mario Cantone, Keala Settle, Ever Carradine, Josh Brener and Jon Rudnitsky. The movie tells the true story of Solomon Chau and Jennifer Carter, a young couple planning their wedding when they receive the news that Chau has liver cancer. Todd Rosenberg wrote the Black List-honored screenplay.
James Jandrisch Scoring Netflix’s ‘Dangerous Lies’
James Jandrisch (Reasonable Doubt, Houdini and Doyle, Somewhere Between, The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco) has recently scored the new Netflix original film Dangerous Lies. The movie is directed by Michael Scott and stars Camila Mendes, Jessie T. Usher, Jamie Chung, Cam Gigandet, Sasha Alexander and Elliott Gould. The thriller revolves around a broke caregiver who unexpectedly inherits her patient’s estate, but dark secrets swirl around her newfound wealth, tangling her in deceit and danger. David Golden (Surveillance) wrote the screenplay.
Netflix’s ‘LA Originals’ to Feature Original Score by Eric Bobo
Cypress Hill member/percussionist Eric Bobo has made his feature film scoring debut on the new Netflix documentary LA Originals. The film is directed by Estevan Oriol and explores the culture and landmarks of the chicano and street art movement that cemented the director’s and photographer Estevan Oriol’s status as behind-the-scenes hip hop legends. The movie feature interviews with Snoop Dogg, Kobe Bryant, Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Pharrell, Blink-182, Michelle Rodriguez, Cypress Hill, Wilmer Valderrama, George Lopez, among others. Sebastián Ortega & Brian Maya are producing the project.

Anton Sanko Scoring Alice Wu’s Netflix Movie ‘The Half of It’
Anton Sanko (Rabbit Hole, Big Love, The Possession, Ouija, The Seagull) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original film The Half of It. The movie is written and directed by Alice Wu and stars Leah Lewis, Daniel Diemer, Collin Chou and Alexxis Lemire. The romantic comedy drama revolves around a shy, introverted, Chinese-American, straight-A student who finds herself helping the school jock woo the girl they both secretly love. Wu is also producing the project with Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foxcatcher, Sing Street) and M. Blair Brear (Baskets, Louie).
Patrick Doyle to Score Declaration of Arbroath Documentary
Scottish newspaper The National is reporting that Academy Award nominee Patrick Doyle (Thor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Cinderella, Brave, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Sense and Sensibility, Gosford Park, Murder on the Orient Express) is scoring a documentary about the Declaration of Arbroath, the letter submitted to Pope John XXII in 1320 that set out to confirm Scotland’s status as an independent, sovereign state. The movie, which has the working title Declaration, will feature appearances by historians Fiona Watson & Tom Turpie, broadcasters Billy Kay & Alistair Heather and author Andrew Redmond Barr. The film is being produced by the National columnist Lesley Riddoch and filmmaker Charlie Stuart.
Walter Mair to Score James Kermack’s ‘Knuckledust’
Walter Mair (Formula 1: Drive to Survive, The Same Sky, Ronaldo, Glue, Cuffs) has signed on to score the upcoming British action thriller Knuckledust. The film is written and directed by James Kermack and stars Moe Dunford, Kate Dickie, Camille Rowe, Jaime Winstone, Alex Ferns, Gethin Anthony, Phil Davis, Amy Bailey and Sebastien Foucan. The movie follows a group of police officers as they are called to take down an elite underground fighting den, when they discover seven levels of hell, filled with the dead bodies of multiple fighters, assassins and goons, with just one bloodied man still breathing.
