John Powell Scoring Doug Liman’s ‘Locked Down’
Composer John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet, X-Men: The Last Stand, Shrek, Chicken Run) is reteaming with director Doug Liman on the upcoming romantic comedy/heist movie Locked Down. The film stars Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor as a couple who find life has other plans when they are stuck at home in a mandatory lockdown and call a truce to attempt a high-risk, high-stakes jewellery heist at one of the world’s most exclusive department store, Harrods. Ben Stiller, Stephen Merchant, Lucy Boynton, Ben Kingsley, Mindy Kaling and Dule Hill are co-starring. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Eastern Promises) wrote the screenplay.

Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, Yes, God, Yes, My Blind Brother, A-X-L) has composed the original music for the upcoming romantic crime drama Die in a Gunfight. The film is directed by Collin Schiffli (All Creatures Here Below) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Diego Boneta, Travis Fimmel, Justin Chatwin and Wade Allain-Marcus. The movie follows a young man who falls for the daughter of his father’s nemesis in New York City. Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man and the Wasp) wrote the screenplay.
Alan Silvestri to Compose Music for Robert Zemeckis’ Disney+ Movie ‘Pinocchio’
Alan Silvestri is set to compose the original score for Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming new live-action film adaptation of Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis. He is also producing and co-writing songs for the movie with songwriter/record producer Glen Ballard. Tom Hanks is attached to star in the film as Geppetto. Chris Weitz (About a Boy, Cinderella) is co-writing the screenplay with Zemeckis based on Disney’s 1940 animated classic and will also produce the project with Andrew Miano (The Farewell, A Single Man).
David Sardy to Score John Swab’s ‘Ida Red’
David Sardy has been hired to score the upcoming crime thriller Ida Red. The film is written and directed by John Swab (Run with the Hunted) and stars Frank Grillo, Melissa Leo, Josh Hartnett, William Forsythe, Sofia Hublitz, Deborah Ann Woll, Mark Boone Junior, Beau Knapp, Slaine and Nicholas Cirillo. The movie follows a career criminal who is battling a terminal illness while serving a 25-year prison sentence in Oklahoma and turns to her son for one last job and a chance to regain her freedom.
Bryce & Aaron Dessner Scoring Clint Bentley’s ‘Jockey’
Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner (of The National) have teamed up to score the upcoming indie drama Jockey. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Clint Bentley and stars Clifton Collins Jr., Molly Parker and Moises Arias. The movie follows a seasoned horse jockey Jackson who finds himself facing what could be his last season as his health deteriorates, when a budding young jockey shows up and claims to be his son. Bentley also co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Kwedar. They are both producing the project with Nancy Schafer (Barracuda, 7 Chinese Brothers, Running with Beto).
Robin Foster Scoring Sean Ellis’ ‘Eight for Silver’
Composer Robin Foster (Criminal: UK, Untogether, Truth Seekers) is reuniting with director Sean Ellis on the upcoming period horror drama Eight for Silver. The film is written and directed by Ellis (Cashback, The Broken) and stars Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly, Alistair Petrie, Roxane Duran and Áine Rose Daly. The movie is set in the late 19th century and follows a pathologist who arrives in a remote country village to investigate an attack by a wild animal brutal and discovers a sinister presence lurking in the woods. Ellis is also producing the LD Entertainment production with Pete Shilaimon (Risen, Megan Leavey) and Mickey Liddell (Jackie, The Grey, Go).
