Universal Music has announced a new compilation album featuring the film music of Brian Eno. The album features seventeen of the composer’s most recognizable film and television compositions, including seven previously unreleased tracks. Among the titles featured on the release are films such as Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones, Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, David Lynch’s Dune, Michael Mann’s Heat, Jonathan Demme’s Married to The Mob, Gary Hustwitz’s RAMS and Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World, as well as the TV shows Top Boy and BBC Natural World’s Hammerhead. Brian Eno – Film Music 1976 – 2020 will be released digitally on November 13, 2020 and is available for pre-order here. A CD and vinyl edition is set to come out on January 22, 2021 and will be available on Amazon soon.

Valley Entertainment has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Oliver Sacks: His Own Life. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Keane (Copper, Death and the Civil War, The Night Flier). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. Oliver Sacks: His Own Life is directed by Ric Burns and centers on renowned neurologist and literary giant Oliver Sack who captured the imagination of the public with his eloquently written case studies of cognitive disorders. The movie features exclusive interviews with Sacks done just after he received a terminal cancer diagnosis, and months prior to his death in August 2015.

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller The Nest. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry who made his feature film scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Nest is written and directed by Sean Durkin and stars Jude Law, Carrie Coon, Anne Reid, Charlie Shotwell and Oona Roche. The movie follows an ambitious entrepreneur and former commodities broker who persuades his American wife and their children to leave the comforts of suburban America and return to his native England during the 1980s.
‘The Devil All the Time’ Soundtrack Album Announced
ABKCO Records has announced the official soundtrack album for the Netflix original film The Devil All the Time. The album features two tracks by Americana music artist Pokey LaFarge (who also stars in the movie), which are being released as a digital EP today, as well as several classic country recordings, including the traditional folk song Little Bessie by The Stanley Brothers. Billy Walker’s original 1961 country hit version of Willie Nelson’s Funny How Time Slips Away and the 1946 recording of the Delmore Brothers’ Hillbilly Boogie. Also included is the film’s original score composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, Enemy, The Gift, Christine, Martha Marcy May Marlene). The full soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 18 and will be available to stream on Amazon. Jagjaguwar has released the cover of Bobby Vinton’s Mr. Lonely from Miranda July’s comedy Kajillionaire. The film’s composer Emile Mosseri (The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Homecoming, Minari) partnered with singer/songwriter Angel Olsen on a new version of the song, which is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon and other digital music stores. La-La Land Records has announced the first-ever soundtrack release for the classic 70s series The Streets of San Francisco starring Karl Malden and Michael Douglas as part of the label’s third volume of the Quinn Martin Collection. The album features music from the ABC drama composed by Patrick Williams (Cry-Baby, The Cutting Edge, Columbo, Used Cars, The Toy, Cuba), including the composer’s pilot score and music from nine additional episode. Also included are selections of the composer’s music from the 1979 TV series A Man Called Sloane. The 2-CD set is limited to 2,000 copies and is now available to order in the label’s online store, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples.
‘Forces of Nature’ Score Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere official release of the original score from the 1999 romantic comedy Forces of Nature directed by Bronwen Hughes and starring Sandra Bullock, Ben Affleck, Maura Tierney, Steve Zahn and Blythe Danner. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet, Star Wars: A Solo Story, United 93, Bolt). The CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, will be available to order on the label’s official website starting at noon today.
