Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is Lucasfilm’s Star Wars movie The Mandalorian and Grogu co-written and directed by Jon Favreau and starring Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, Brendan Wayne, Lateef Crowder and Martin Scorsese The film’s original music is composed by Ludwig Göransson (Sinners, OppenheimerBlack PantherCreedTurning RedVenom, Tenet, Community). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally last Friday and will release physical versions in the coming weeks. Also opening nationwide is the supernatural horror thriller Passenger directed by André Øvredal and starring Jacob Scipio, Lou Llobell and Melissa Leo. Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, HellraiserSinister, The Shipping NewsGhost RiderThe Hurricane, Drag Me to Hell, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Gift) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records & Paramount Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today and Intrada Records will release a CD version next month. Also opening wide is the crime comedy I Love Boosters written and directed by Boots Riley and starring Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Poppy Liu, Will Poulter and Demi Moore. The film’s original score is composed by Tune-Yards (aka Merrill Garbus & Nate Brenner) (Sorry to Bother YouI’m a Virgo). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the duo’s score today and has also released a separate EP featuring five original songs performed by Palmer earlier this month. Opening semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters is the horror thriller Corporate Retreat co-written and directed by Aaron Fisher and starring Alan Ruck, Odeya Rush, Ashton Sanders, Rosanna Arquette, Benjamin Norris, Sasha Lane, Kirby Johnson, Elias Kacavas, Ellen Toland, Tyler Alvarez and Zión Moreno. Anna Drubich (Barbarian, Fear Street Part 3: 1666, Scary Stories to Tell in the DarkForbidden FruitsWerewolves Within, Sting, Time Cut) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which is follows a group of ambitious tech corporate executives who head to a luxury team-building retreat set at a remote desert estate that quickly takes a sinister turn, is being released by Passage Pictures.

Also opening semi-wide in around 400 U.S. theaters is the Australian supernatural body horror feature Saccharine written and directed by Natalie Erika James and starring Midori Francis, Danielle Macdonald and Madeleine Madden. The film’s original music is composed by Hannah Peel (Bring Them Down, Rogue Agent, Scoop, Midwinter Break, InsomniaThe Midwich CuckoosGame of Thrones: The Last WatchSilent RoarThe Deceived).  No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Opening in Los Angeles and New York this weekend before expanding to more markets next weekend is the crime thriller Tuner co-written and directed by Daniel Roher and starring Leo Woodall, Havana Rose Liu, Dustin Hoffman, Jean Reno, Lior Raz and Tovah Feldshuh. Marius de Vries (CodaStrange MagicSucker Punch,  Kick-Ass, Easy Virtue) serves as the project’s executive music producer and has written the film’s on-screen music and Will Bates (ImmaculateThe Magicians, UnbelievableThe Life ListAway, The Better Sister I Origins, The Path, The Looming Tower) has composed the movie’s original score. A soundtrack album will be announced soon.  Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British biographical drama Giant written and directed by Rowan Athale and starring Amir El-Masry, Pierce Brosnan, Austin Haynes, Katherine Dow Blyton and Arian Nik. The film’s original music is composed by Neil Athale (Wasteland, TwistGolden Years, Strange But TrueIn a DayGloves Off). The composer has released a soundtrack album featuring his score this past January when the movie opened in the UK.
