Composer Alan Silvestri (Avengers: Endgame, Predator, Ready Player One, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Mummy Returns) has confirmed in a recent interview on the Maltin on Movies podcast that he is reteaming with director Robert Zemeckis on the upcoming drama Here and will start recording his score later this month. The movie starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Paul Bettany, Michelle Dockery & Kelly Reilly is based on Richard McGuire’s graphic novel of the same name, which is centered in one room and focuses on the many people who inhabit it over the years, from the past to the distant future. Zemeckis also co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth (The Insider, Dune) and is producing the ImageMovers production with Jack Rapke (Matchstick Men, Monster House), as well as Miramax’s Bill Block (Halloween, Fury). Silvestri has previously scored all of Zemeckis’ features since 1984’s Romancing the Stone, including the Back to the Future trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Cast Away and The Polar Express. Here is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in theaters in 2024 by Sony Pictures.
Silvestri’s other recent projects include the stage production Back to the Future: The Musical, which just made its Broadway debut this summer.
