Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Already playing in theaters since this past Wednesday is the romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Constance Wu, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding and Chris Pang. The film’s original score is composed by Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Fast & Furious series). Opening nationwide today is the action thriller Mile 22 directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, Iko Uwais, Ronda Rousey and John Malkovich. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, Legion, The Night Of) has composed the film’s original score. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Jeff Russo has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller Mile 22. The film is directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, John Malkovich, Iko Uwais and Ronda Rousey. The movie centers on an elite American intelligence officer who, when aided by a top-secret tactical command unit, tries to smuggle a mysterious police officer with sensitive information out of the country. Graham Roland (Jack Ryan) and Lea Carpenter have written the screenplay. Berg and Wahlberg are also producing the project with Stephen Levinson (Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, Contraband).
