Platoon will release the official soundtrack album for the spy action comedy thriller Argylle. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam, His Dark Materials, The Wheel of Time, The LEGO Batman Movie). Also included is the original song Electric Energy co-written by Balfe and performed by Ariana DeBose, Boy George & Nile Rodgers (to be released as a digital single tomorrow), as well as a second song performed by DeBose. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, February 2 (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to pre-order). Argylle is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, John Cena, Bryan Cranston, Sofia Boutella, DeBose, Catherine O’Hara and Samuel L. Jackson.

Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, His Dark Materials, Black Widow, The Wheel of Time, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. The movie is directed by Mark Molloy and stars Eddie Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judge Reinhold, Taylour Paige, Paul Reiser, John Ashton, Kevin Bacon and Bronson Pinchot. The fourth installment of the action comedy series follows Foley’s criminal defense attorney daughter who pulls her dad into a new case and teams up with a new partner to solve the crime.
‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ Suites and Themes Soundtrack CD Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack CD for Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The album features the suites and themes composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, His Dark Materials, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, Black Adam, The Wheel of Time) that informed and inspired his score for the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible film series. The Suites and Themes CD will be available to order on the label’s official website at noon today. The fifteen tracks on the album have previously been released on a digital extended edition soundtrack, which was released last month. The label has also released a CD version of the original soundtrack album for the movie this past July.

Making its linear premiere tonight is the Showtime limited series Fellow Travelers created by Ron Nyswaner based on the novel by Thomas Mallon and starring Matt Bomer, Jonathan Bailey, Allison Williams, Jelani Alladin and Noah J. Ricketts. The show’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Boston Strangler). The 8-part drama, which chronicles the volatile romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington, premiered this Friday on Paramount+ with Showtime and will air every Sunday night on Showtime.
Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, October 30, is the British limited series Mayflies written by Andrea Gibb based on Andrew O’Hagan’s bestselling novel of the same title and starring Martin Compston, Tony Curran, Ashley Jensen, Rian Gordon, Tracy Ifeachor and Tom Glynn-Carney. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Wheel of Time, His Dark Materials, Black Widow) & Joseph Stevenson have composed the show’s original music. The 2-parter, which centers on the friendship between two Scottish men, premiered in the UK last year on BBC One and is making its domestic debut on Acorn TV.

Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for the action movie Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The “extended edition” features the film’s original score composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, His Dark Materials, Top Gun: Maverick, Life on Our Planet, Black Adam, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), including fifteen previously unreleased tracks. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 27 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The original soundtrack album was released this summer, both as a digital version and CD version (released by La-La Land Records).

The movie, which explores the duo’s ascension to success that came with a devastating price that ultimately led to their infamous undoing, premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and will make its streaming debut on Paramount+.

Available to stream/download now are the Chapter 1-4 soundtracks (click here for the details of each album), as well as the soundtracks for Chapter 5 (In the Shadows of Giants), Chapter 6 (Out of the Ashes), Chapter 7 (Inheriting the Earth) and Chapter 8 (Age of Ice and Fire) featuring music composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation & Dead Reckoning, Black Adam, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, The Wheel of Time).
