Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Tinker Bell and the Legend of NeverBeast. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) who previously scored the other music for Disney Toon Studios’ Tinker Bell franchise. Also included are the original songs from the film by KT Tunstall. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Tinker Bell and the Legend of NeverBeast is directed by Steve Loter and features the voices of Mae Whitman, Angela Bartys, Pamela Adlon, Lucy Liu, Megan Hilty, Raven-Symone and Lucy Hale. The movie follows the animal fairy Fawn who befriends a huge and mysterious creature known as the NeverBeast.

Joel McNeely to Score Disney’s ‘Legend of the NeverBeast’
Joel McNeely is returning to score the next installment in DisneyToon Studios’ Tinker Bell series, Legend of the NeverBeast. The film is directed by Steve Loter (Kim Possible) and features the voices of Mae Whitman, Angela Bartys, Pamela Adlon, Lucy Liu, Megan Hilty, Raven-Symone and Lucy Hale. The movie follows the animal fairy Fawn who befriends a huge and mysterious creature known as the NeverBeast. McNeely has previously scored the first six movies of the Disney Fairies franchise, including the original Tinker Bell film, as well as Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, Pixie Hollow Games, Secret of the Wings and this year’s The Pirate Fairy.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the fantasy adventure Maleficent directed by Robert Stromberg and starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Sam Riley, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, The Sixth Sense) has composed the film’s original music. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as a new cover version of the song Once Upon a Dream by Lana Del Rey. The composer recently recorded his orchestral music in Los Angeles and collaborated with the bluegrass band Punch Brothers on a number of cues. ‘The Pirate Fairy’ Soundtrack Announced
Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Pirate Fairy. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) who previously scored the other four features in the Tinker Bell series, as well as Disney’s Return to Never Land. The Pirate Fairy is directed by Peggy Holmes and features the voices of Mae Whitman, Christina Hendricks and Tom Hiddlestone who plays a young James Hook. The animated film will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD on April 1 and will receive a theatrical release in a number of international territories.
Joel McNeely Scoring ‘The Pirate Fairy’
Joel McNeely is currently recording his orchestral score for Disney’s animated movie The Pirate Fairy. The film marks the fifth installment in the Tinker Bell series and features the voices of Mae Whitman who will reprise her titular role, as well as Christina Hendricks who is lending her voice to a new fairy named Zarina and Tom Hiddlestone who plays a young James Hook. Peggy Holmes (The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning) is directing the Disney Toon Studios production. McNeely has previously scored all films in the Tinker Bell series, as well as Return to Never Land, which was also based on the characters from J.M. Barries’ Peter Pan. The Pirate Fairy will be released in the U.S. on Blu-ray and DVD on April 1, 2014. The movie will also receive a theatrical release in numerous European territories in early 2014.

Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the score for Walt Disney Pictures’ 2008 animated feature Tinker Bell. The album featueres the film’s original music composed and conducted by Joel McNeely (Holes, Iron Will, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles). Also included are the film’s songs performed by Lorena McKennitt and Selena Gomez. The soundtrack is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio clips. Walt Disney Records has previously released a soundtrack featuring the film’s songs, as well as McNeely’s end credits suite. Tinker Bell is directed by Bradley Raymond and features the voice talent of Mae Whitman, Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Horrocks, Anjelica Huston, Jesse McCartney, and Raven-Symone.
Varese Sarabande to Present Music from the Star Wars Universe Concert
Varèse Sarabande Records continues their 35th anniversary celebration with a special tribute performance by the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) celebrating the Star Wars legacy on June 15, 2013. The Music from the Star Wars Universe concert will feature musical selections from various Star Wars projects including the classic scores composed by John Williams, including Star Wars: Main Title, Imperial March, Princess Leia’s Theme, and Across the Stars from Attack of the Clones. In addition, Varèse will celebrate Joel McNeely‘s release for his score to Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, which will also be performed. Also featured will be music from Star Wars video games, spin-off films and fan films. Joel McNeely has been tapped to score the upcoming western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West. The film is directed by Seth MacFarlane who also stars in the film alongside Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi and Neil Patrick Harris. The movie follows a sheepish farmer who backs out of a gunfight and loses his girlfriend, who leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. MacFarlane co-wrote the screenplay with Wellesley Wild & Alec Sulkin (Family Guy, Ted). Scott Stuber (Safe House, Identity Thief) and Jason Clark (Ted) are producing the project.
