Dustin O’Halloran is scoring the upcoming indie drama Now Is Good. The film based on a novel by Jenny Downham is written and directed by Ol Parker (Imagine Me & You) and stars Dakota Fanning as a seventeen year old girl diagnosed with a terminal illness who resolves to live her life on fast forward and falls in love with her new neighbor. Jeremy Irvine, Paddy Considine, Kaya Scoledario and Olivia Williams are co-starring. Peter Czernin and Graham Broadbent (In Bruges, the upcoming The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) are producing the project. Sony Picture Worldwide Acquisitions has picked up domestic rights for Now Is Good and Warner Bros. is handling the UK release.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (October 28, 2011)
Three movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters this week is Dreamworks Animation’s Puss in Boots directed by Chris Miller and featuring the voice talent of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring Jackman’s music, as well as two tracks by Rodrigo y Gabriela this past Tuesday. Also opening wide is the sci-fi thriller In Time directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Cillian Murphy and Alex Pettyfer. The film’s score is composed by Craig Armstrong. A soundtrack album featuring Armstrong’s music has been released digitally earlier this week by Lakeshore Records. Soundtrack Albums for ‘Like Crazy’ Announced
Relativity Music Group will be releasing two soundtrack albums for the indie drama Like Crazy. The first soundtrack includes selections of the original score from the film by Dustin O’Halloran, as well as several songs by indie rock artists Paul Simon, The Mary Onettes, Figurine, Fool’s Gold, M83 and Stars. The score album features O’Halloran’s music including material not included on the other soundtrack. Both albums will be released on October 25, 2011. The song/score compilation is available to pre-order on Amazon and the score album can be pre-ordered here. Like Crazy is directed by Drake Doremus and stars Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence. The movie premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize for Dramatic Film.
