Stephanie Economou (Jupiter’s Legacy, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok, Manhunt: Deadly Games, The Chair, Step Up) has recently been scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. The film is directed by Kirk DeMicco (The Croods, Vivo), co-directed by Faryn Pearl and stars Lana Condor, Toni Collette, Sam Richardson, Annie Murphy, Liza Koshy, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Blue Chapman, Jaboukie Young-White, Eduardo Franco, Ramona Young and Echo Kellum. The movie follows a shy teenager who discovers that she’s part of a legendary royal lineage of mythical sea krakens and that her destiny, in the depths of the oceans, is bigger than she ever dreamed.

Theodore Shapiro to Return for DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Trolls 3’
Theodore Shapiro (Severance, The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, Ghostbusters, Spy, Marley & Me, Bombshell) is returning to compose the original score for the upcoming animated sequel Trolls 3. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake are reprising their roles as the lead characters of Queen Poppy and Branch. No other voice casting announcements have been made yet for the DreamWorks Animation production. Shapiro has previously scored the second installment, Trolls World Tour (and also composed the music for the studios’ Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie), while Christophe Beck composed the score for the original 2016 film.
‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ Soundtrack Album Details
Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s animated sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The album features the film’s original score composed by Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Angry Bird Movie, The Smurfs, Paw Patrol: The Movie, Smallfoot). Also included are the original songs Fearless Hero written by Pereira, Dan Navarro & Paul Fisher and performed by Antonio Banderas (who stars in the title role), La Vida Es Una co-written (with Ovy on the Drums) and performed by Karol G (already available as a digital single), Por Que Te Vas co-written (with Pereira) and performed by Gaby Moreno, as well as a cover of The Doors’ The End performed by Navarro. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 16 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services.
DreamWorks Animation Premieres New Logo Sequence Featuring Music by Harry Gregson-Williams
DreamWorks Animation has premiered the studios’ new animated logo sequence, which will be first seen in front of its latest animated feature Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which is receiving sneak preview showings in select theaters this Saturday, November 26 and is set to be released in theaters on December 21. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire) has composed the sequence’s music, which features his (and John Powell’s) theme from the original 2001 Shrek movie and was also used in the studios’ previous logo sequence. Soundtrack Album for DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Abominable and the Invisible City’ to Be Released
Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animatio’s new TV series Abominable and the Invisible City. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by George Shaw (Escape the Night, Little Sorcerer). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 7 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Abominable and the Invisible City executive produced by Jim Schuman is based on the 2019 Abominable feature (scored by Rupert Gregson-Williams) and features the voices of Chloe Bennet, Tenzing Trainor, Michelle Wong and Alan Cumming. The animated comedy follows Yi, Jin, and Peng as they discover that there’s a whole magical world out there when they discover that their city is teeming with magical creatures.

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s Netflix series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Kevin Lax (The First Purge, Burning Sands) & Robert Lydecker (Iron Fist, Lethal Weapon, Sleepy Hollow, Designated Survivor). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 15 and will be available to stream/download here. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is developed by Mitch Watson & Peter Hastings based on DreamWorks Animation’s film franchise and features the voices of Jack Black, Rita Ora, James Hong, Amy Hill, Chris Geere, Nolan North and Della Saba. The animated comedy follows legendary warrior Po as he teams up with an elite English knight to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice and to save the world from destruction.

The film is directed by Joel Crawford (The Croods: A New Age) and stars Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman, Samson Kayo, Harvey Guillén, Wagner Moura, John Mulaney, Anthony Mendez, Florence Pugh, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Ray Winstone. The movie follows the title character who discovers that his passion for peril and disregard for safety have taken their toll and – in order to get all his nine lives back – takes on his grandest quest yet.
