Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Enola Holmes, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ocean’s 8,The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Being the Ricardos) is set to score the upcoming animated sequel The Bad Guys 2. The film is directed by Pierre Perifel (who previously helmed the original film) and features the voices of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Awkwafina, Zazie Beetz, Richard Ayoade, Alex Borstein and Lilly Singh. The DreamWorks Animation production follows the crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws as they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do “one last job” by an all-female squad of criminals.

Kris Bowers to Score Chris Sanders’ ‘The Wild Robot’
Kris Bowers (King Richard, Green Book, Secret Invasion, Haunted Mansion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Color Purple, Dear White People) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated feature The Wild Robot. The film is written and directed by Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch, The Croods) and features the voices of Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry, Mark Hamill and Ving Rhames. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Peter Brown follows the journey of a robot that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ to Feature ‘…Baby One More Time’ Cover by Tenacious D
Tenacious D (Jack Black & Kyle Gass) have recorded a new version of the Britney Spears hit song …Baby One More Time for DreamWorks Animation’s sequel Kung Fu Panda 4. The track (originally written by Max Martin) is produced by John Spiker (who co-wrote Black’s original song Peaches from last year’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie) and features an orchestral arrangement by the film’s composers Hans Zimmer & Steve Mazzaro and Òscar Senén. The song is featured during the movie’s end titles sequence and will be included on the movie’s official soundtrack album, which will be released next week by Back Lot Music.
Matthew Janszen & Bryan Winslow Scoring Peacock’s ‘Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate’ & ‘Megamind Rules!’
Matthew Janszen (Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Fatal Affair, Bugs Bunny Builders, Love Accidentally) & Bryan Winslow (Vacation Home Nightmare) are scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming film Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate and TV series Megamind Rules!. Both the movie and TV show are written/developed by Alan Schoolcraft & Brent Simons based on the studios’ 2010 Megamind feature (scored by Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe), where the title character goes from being a supervillain and the scourge of Metro City to a superhero who’s learning on the job. The projects’ voice cast includes Keith Ferguson, Laura Post, Maya Aoki Tuttle, Josh Brener, Emily Tunon, Talon Warburton, Chris Sullivan, Scott Adsit, Tony Hale, Jeanine Mason and Adam Lambert.
‘Orion and the Dark’ Soundtrack Album Details
Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original animated film Orion and the Dark. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Robert Lydecker (Iron Fist, Lethal Weapon, Sleepy Hollow) and Kevin Lax (The First Purge, Burning Sands, Juanita). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Orion and the Dark is directed by Sean Charmatz, written by Charlie Kaufman based on the book of the same title by Emma Yarlett and stars Jacob Tremblay, Paul Walter Hauser, Angela Bassett, Mia Akemi Brown, Colin Hanks, Ike Barinholtz and Nat Faxon. The DreamWorks Animation production tells the story of a boy with an active imagination who faces his fears on a journey through the night with his new friend: a giant, smiling creature named Dark.

RCA Records has released a deluxe edition soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s sequel Trolls Band Together. The album features all songs from the original soundtrack, as well as two previously unreleased tracks: Tiësto’s remix of *NSYNC’s Better Place and a demo version of the the original song Family (co-written with Mike Elizondo & Michael Pollack) by Justin Timberlake & songwriter Emily Warren. The deluxe edition version is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to both new tracks after the jump.
