Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s feature The Bad Guys. The album features the film’s original score composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Enola Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Being the Ricardos, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Birds of Prey, Steve Jobs). Also included are songs performed by Anthony Ramos, Elle King and The Heavy. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 31 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Bad Guys is directed by Pierre Perifel and features the voices of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina, Zazie Beetz, Richard Ayoade, Lilly Singh and Alex Borstein. The animated comedy is based on the Scholastic book series by Aaron Blabey and centers on a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws who are about to attempt their most challenging con yet – becoming model citizens.

‘Trolls Holiday in Harmony’ Soundtrack EP Released
RCA Records has released a soundtrack EP for the DreamWorks Animation’s special Trolls Holiday in Harmony. The 5-track EP features two original songs (Together Now & Tiny’s Journey) from the special co-written and produced by composer Joseph Shirley (The Book of Boba Fett, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Bad Trip, Fairfax) and performed by the project’s voice cast, as well as a cover of Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Also included is a score suite by Shirley. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to all five tracks after the jump. Hannah Parrott Scoring Hulu’s & Peacock’s ‘The Croods: Family Tree’
Hannah Parrott (Head Count, When Jeff Tried to Save the World, Golden Arm, Mountain Men) is scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming TV series The Croods: Family Tree. The show is based on The Croods feature films (scored by Alan Silvestri & Mark Mothersbaugh) and features the voice talent of Kiff Vandenheuvel, Amy Landecker, Ally Dixon, A.J. Locascio, Artemis Pebdani, Darin Brooks playing Guy, Matthew Waterson, Amy Rosoff and Kelly Marie Tran. The series continues the ever-evolving story of the Croods and the Bettermans as they learn to live together on the most idyllic farm in prehistory.

Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Trial of the Chicago 7, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Birds of Prey, Enola Holmes, Steve Jobs) has been tapped to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature The Bad Guys. The film directed by Pierre Perifel (Bilby) is based on Aaron Blabey’s best-selling Scholastic book series of the same name and follows five notorious bad guys who’ve been behind big heists – Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula – as they attempt their most challenging job yet…going good.
Leo Birenberg Scoring Netflix’s ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’
Leo Birenberg (Cobra Kai, Son of Zorn) has recently been scoring DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix original series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. The show starring Paul-Mikél Williams, Jenna Ortega, Sean Giambrone, Raini Rodriguez, Ryan Potter and Kausar Mohamme follows a group of six teenagers who are invited to attend a state-of-the-art adventure camp on Isla Nublar and must band together to survive when the dinosaurs break out of captivity. Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness) and Lane Lueras serve as the project’s showrunners and are also executive producing the DreamWorks Animation, Amblin Entertainment and Legendary Television production with Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Colin Trevorrow.
Amie Doherty to Score DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Spirit Riding Free’ Movie
Amie Doherty (Undone, Battle at Big Rock, The High Note, Here and Now) has signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Spirit Riding Free. The film directed by Elaine Bogan (Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters & 3Below) is based on DreamWorks Animation Television’s Netflix original series of the same title, which was itself inspired by the 2002 feature Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (scored by Hans Zimmer and featuring songs by Bryan Adams). The movie follows Lucky Prescott as she is forced to move from her big city home to a small frontier town, where she becomes a complete fish-out-of-water, makes new friends and forms an inseparable bond with a wild mustang named Spirit.
‘Rhyme Time Town’ Soundtrack Album Released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s Netflix original series Rhyme Time Town. The album features a selection of songs from the show performed by Annabelle Westenholz-Smith, Luke Amis, Matthew Brown, Caitlin Linney, Maddie Evans, Angeli Wall, .Jude Muir & others. Kari Kimmel (who previously composed the title songs for DreamWorks Animation’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Spirit: Riding Free) wrote the title song Let’s Go to Rhyme Time Town and arranged the other tracks on the album. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Rhyme Time Town follows fun-loving friends Daisy and Cole as they use music and imagination to solve problems in a town filled with nursery rhyme characters.

The album features the songs from the movie performed by artists including Justin Timberlake, SZA, Anderson.Paak, Anna Kendrick, Ludwig Goransson, HAIM, Mary J. Blige, Anthony RAmos, Kelly Clarkson, Dierks Bentley, George Clinton, Rachel Bloom, James Corden, Ester Dean, Icona Pop, Kenan Thompson, Sam Rockwell, among others. The film is directed by Walt Dohrn (who co-directed the original 2016 Trolls movie) and stars Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, as well as Rachel Bloom, Ozzy Osbourne, James Corden, Caroline Hjelt, Aino Jawo, Ron Funches and Kunal Nayyar. The movie follows Poppy and Branch as they discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock.
‘Bird Karma’ Soundtrack Released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack EP for the DreamWorks Animation short Bird Karma. The EP features the film’s original music composed by Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum (Stockholm, Pennsylvania, Regarding Susan Sontag, Grand-Daddy Day Care). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Bird Karma is directed by William Salazar and tells the story of a long-legged bird’s journey of blissful joy, inescapable greed and the accidental discovery of the consequences when too much is not enough.
