Leo Birenberg is scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming series Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny. The show based on the studios’ feature film franchise revolves around four panda kids who stumble upon a mystical cave beneath Panda Village, accidentally absorbing the chi of ancient and powerful kung fu warriors known as the Four Constellations, and must realize a destiny to save the world from an evil force. Mitch Watson (All Hail King Julien), Elliott Owen and Lane Lueras are producing the project.

DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Bilby’ to Feature Music by Benjamin Wallfisch
Benjamin Wallfisch has composed the music for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming short Bilby. The film written and directed by Pierre Perifel, JP Sans & Liron Topaz is set in Australia’s Outback and follows the title character who finds himself an unwitting protector, and unexpected friend, to a helpless baby bird. Kelly Cooney and Jeff Hermann are producing the project. The short is among the first two films in DreamWorks Animation’s new shorts program.

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for Dreamworks Animation’s holiday special Home For the Holidays. The album features the songs from the special performed by the project’s voice cast, including Kelly Clarkson, Ben Schwartz, Rachel Crow, Mark Whitten, Ana Ortiz, Ron Funches & more. RCA Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated holiday special Trolls Holiday. The album features the songs from the short performed by the project’s voice cast, including Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, James Corden, Ron Funches and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Also included a suite from the score compose by Jeff Morrow (Olaf’s Frozen Adventure). Trolls Holiday directed by Joel Crawford and written by Josh Bycel & Jonathan Feneris is based on DreamWorks’ hit musical-comedy film and continues the story of the Trolls and the Bergensased.
Hans Zimmer to Score DreamWorks Animation’s ‘The Boss Baby’
Hans Zimmer has signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature The Boss Baby. The film is directed by Tom McGrath and features the voices of Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel and Lisa Kudrow. The movie is based on the book by Marla Frazee and follows a suit-wearing briefcase-carrying baby who pairs up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. Michael McCullers (Austin Powers) has written the screenplay. Ramsey Naito is producing the project.

Justin Timberlake will serve as the executive music producer on DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Trolls. He will oversee the creative direction for the film’s music and write and perform several songs on the soundtrack. The movie is directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After) & Walt Dohrn and features the voice talent of Anna Kendrick and Timberlake. The film is based on the Troll dolls – created by Danish woodcutter Thomas Dam in 1959 based on the legendary Scandinavian troll.
Christophe Beck to Score DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Trolls’
Christophe Beck has been tapped to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Trolls. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After, Sky High) & Walt Dohrn and features the voices of Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake. The movie is based on the Troll dolls – created by Danish woodcutter Thomas Dam in 1959 based on the legendary Scandinavian troll. Gina Shay (Shrek Forever After) is producing the movie. The project will mark Beck’s third full-length animated feature following Disney’s Frozen and Blue Sky’s The Peanuts Movie, which is currently playing in theaters.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation Television’s Netflix original series All Hail King Julien. The album features the songs from the series, including the main title theme Who’s Da King by Blaze n Vill, as well as tracks by The DeeKompressors, Melanie Taylor and Linus of Hollywood. Also included are five tracks from the show’s original score composed by Frederik Wiedmann (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Beware the Batman, Miles from Tomorrowland). Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s feature Kung Fu Panda 3. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Prince of Egypt, Inception, The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean) who previously co-scored the first two installments in the series with John Powell.
