Harmonic Design Records (to be distributed in partnership with Notefornote Music) will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi mystery drama Silent River. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Ralston (Crooked Arrows, Being Rose, Awaken, Don’t Fade Away). The soundtrack will be released on all major digital music platforms next Friday, November 11. The composer’s score has been remixed from the original multi-track audio sessions in the Dolby Atmos surround/spacial audio format and will be available on all platforms that support the format the following Friday, November 18. Silent River is written and directed by Chris Chan Lee and stars West Liang, Amy Tsang, Max Faugno, Chandra Anderson and Dakota Loesch.

‘Being Rose’ Soundtrack Released
Notefornote Music has released a soundtrack album for the drama Being Rose. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Ralston (Crooked Arrows, Awaken, Don’t Fade Away). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes and is also available to stream on Spotify. A physical release is also in the works. Being Rose is written and directed by Rod McCall and stars Cybill Shepherd, James Brolin and Pam Grier. The movie follows the story of a widowed ex-cop who discovers that she may have a life threatening illness and decides to go on a solo road trip in a motorized wheelchair, when she meets and falls in love with a charming cowboy who has to come to a crossroads of his own.
Brian Ralston to Score Rod McCall’s ‘Rose’
Brian Ralston has signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama Rose. The film is written and directed by Rod McCall (Paper Hearts, Lewis & Clark & George) and stars Cybill Shepherd, James Brolin and Pam Grier. The movie centers on a recently disabled and widowed woman with a short time to live who is taking a solo road trip through the “land of enchantment” in an effort to reconcile with her estranged son and make her peace with life. J. Todd Harris (The Kids Are All Right, Bottle Shock) and Eric A. Williams are producing the project.

Premiering on Friday, July 29, is DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix series Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh developed by Ryan Crego & Thurop Van Orman and featuring the voices of Rachel Crow, Mark Whitten, Ana Ortiz, Ron Funches and Matt Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Alex Geringas. The animated comedy is based on last year’s feature Home (scored by Lorne Balfe) and centers on the friendship between the fearless Tip and overenthusiastic Oh as they navigate the crazily combined human and alien culture they live in. The full first season will be available this Friday on Netflix.
‘Crooked Arrows’ Soundtrack Announced
Perseverance Records will release a soundtrack album for the sports drama Crooked Arrows. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Brian Ralston (Graduation, Don’t Fade Away) and performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra. The film opened in domestic theaters in May 2012 and is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is Universal Pictures’ action tentpole Battleship directed by Peter Berg and starring Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Hamish Linklater and Rihanna. The film’s music is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Transformers). Varese Sarabande Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the ensemble comedy ensemble What to Expect When You’re Expecting directed by Kirk Jones and starring Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock and Rodrigo Santoro. Mark Mothersbaugh has composed the film’s original score. A soundtrack album featuring the movie’s songs by artists including Chiddy Bang, The Human League, Kinky, Sleeper Agent, Black Lips, Robert Palmer and David Gray has been released by Capitol Records. Brian Ralston Scoring ‘Crooked Arrows’
Brian Ralston is currently scoring the upcoming sports drama Crooked Arrows. The movie directed by Steve Rash (Can’t Buy Me Love, The Buddy Holly Story) follows a rag-tag Native American high school lacrosse team that is forced to join the elite New York Prep League, which is comprised of better trained and equipped rivals. The film starring Brandon Routh, Gil Birmingham, Crystal Allen and Chelsea Ricketts is written by Brad Riddell and Todd Baird. J. Todd Harris (Jeepers Creepers) and Mitchell Peck (Priest) are producing the project, which is co-produced by Sports Studio (Miracle). Ralston will be recording his Native American influenced score with the Hollywood Studio Symphony next month. Crooked Arrows will be released in theaters this spring.
