Premiering tonight is the PBS documentary Muhammad Ali directed and executive produced by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns & David McMahon about the iconic heavyweight boxing champion who became an inspiration to people everywhere. The film’s original music is composed by songwriter and hip hop record producer Jahlil Beats. A soundtrack album featuring the artist’s music has been released today. Check out our soundtrack announcement for the full album details and to learn more about the 4-parter, which will air over the next four days on PBS.

Premiering tomorrow, September 20 is the Fox comedy drama The Big Leap created by Liz Heldens and starring Scott Foley, Simone Recasner, Piper Perabo, Jon Rudnitsky, Ser’Darius Blain, Raymond Cham, Jr., Kevin Daniels, Mallory Jansen, Anna Grace Barlow and Teri Polo. Joe Wong (The Midnight Gospel, Master of None, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Russian Doll) is composing the show’s original score. A first song from the series (Just Like Heaven produced by Wong and performed by Eryn Allen Kane) was released this past week. Premiering in the U.S. today is the British series Guilt created by Neil Forsyth and starring Mark Bonnar, Jamie Sives, Ruth Bradley, Emun Elliott, Sian Brooke, Moyo Akandé, Ellie Haddington and Bill Paterson. The show’s original music is composed by Arthur Sharpe (The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, Ghosts). The thriller, which follows two brothers who are hiding their guilt after running into an elderly pedestrian during an inebriated drive home from a wedding, premiered in the UK in 2019 on BBC Two and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.

Premiering on Tuesday, September 7, is the FX limited series American Crime Story: Impeachment developed by Sarah Burgess and starring Sarah Paulson, Beanie Feldstein, Margo Martindale, Annaleigh Ashford, Clive Owen, Judith Light, Billy Eichner and Edie Falco. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Politician, Scream Queens) who previously scored the first two American Crime Story installments (The People v. O.J. Simpson & The Assassination of Gianni Versace) is composing the show’s original music. The new season, which examines the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century, will premiere on FX and will also be available to stream on FX on Hulu.

Lorne Balfe Scoring Amazon’s ‘The Wheel of Time’

Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown, The Tomorrow War) has recently been scoring the upcoming Amazon original series The Wheel of Time. The show is developed by Rafe Judkins and stars Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford,Madeleine Madden, Barney Harris, Zoë Robins, Daniel Henney, Hammed Animashaun, Álvaro Morte, Johann Myers, Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier and Emmanuel Imani . The fantasy drama based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy epic of the same title follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers, where she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young villagers.

‘Cinderella’ Score Album Details

Sony Classical will release a second soundtrack album for the musical comedy Cinderella. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, Onward, The Good Dinosaur, Girl, Interrupted, Little Miss Sunshine) and Jessica Rose Weiss (Dog Gone Trouble, Afterlife of the Party, Friendsgiving). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 3. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the album. As previously reported, Epic Records will release a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, as well as a score suite. Cinderella is written and directed by Kay Cannon and stars  Camila Cabello, Pierce Brosnan, Idina Menzel, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter, Minnie Driver, James Corden, James Acaster, Maddie Baillio, Romesh Ranganathan and Charlotte Spencer.

Will Bates (Unbelievable, I Origins, The Magicians, The Path, The Looming Tower, Another Earth, Away) has recently scored the new Amazon original movie The Voyeurs. The film is written and directed by Michael Mohan (Everything Sucks!, Save the Date) and stars Sydney Sweeney, Justice Smith, Ben Hardy and Natasha Liu Bordizzo. The thriller follows a young couple who find themselves becoming interested in the sex life of their neighbors across the street and whose innocent curiosity turns into an unhealthy obsession, after they discover that one neighbor is cheating.

The romantic comedy, which follows Elle as she plans the ultimate bucket list to make the most of her final summer before college, will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

‘Modern Love’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced

Milan Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Amazon anthologhy series Modern Love. The album features both score music and original songs from the show’s second season. Executive music producer Gary Clark and series showrunner, director, writer & executive producer John Carney have written both instrumental music and original vocal tracks featuring performances by Rosie Carney, Nerina Pallot, John Byrne and ANDERMO. The record also features songs written and performed by Andy Shauf, Chong the Nomad, Morcheeba’s Skye Edwards, Clark and Gregor Philip, as well as score tracks by Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Indignation), Philip and Brian Byrne (Albert Nobbs, Boychoir). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first score track by Wadley (Good for Both of Us) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out below. Decca Classics has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the first season.

Soundtrack Album for Amazon’s ‘El Cid’ Released

Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish Amazon original series El Cid. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first two seasons composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, 21 Grams) & Alfonso G. Aguilar (Klaus, Perdida, You Shall Not Sleep, O21). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. El Cid is created by José Velasco & Luis Arranz and stars Jaime Lorente, Álvaro Rico, Jaime Olías, Alicia Sanz, Juan Echanove and Amparo Alcazar. The historical drama tells the story of the legendary medieval war hero, whose deeds inspired one of the most important of medieval Spanish epic poems, El Cantar de Mio Cid.

Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist to Score Amazon’s ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ TV Series

Drum & Lace (The Gospel According to André, Good Girls, Deadly Illusions) and Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, Animals, Die in a Gunfight) have been tapped to score the upcoming Amazon original series I Know What You Did Last Summer. The show is based on the 1973 novel of the same title by Lois Duncan and stars Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ashley Moore, Ezekiel Goodman, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom and Bill Heck. The horror series is being described as a modern take of the 1997 film adaptation (scored by John Debney) and follows a group of teenagers who are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
