WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the drama Cry Macho. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Mancina (Moana, Speed, Tarzan, Bad Boys, Twister, August Rush, Training Day). Also included is the original song Find a New Home written by Mancina and performed by Will Banister. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 10 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon or any other major digital music platforms. Cry Macho is directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Eastwood himself, Eduardo Minett, Natalia Traven, Dwight Yoakam, Fernanda Urrejola and Horacio Garcia-Rojas. Temporary Residence has announced a soundtrack album for the PBS documentary Big Bend: The Wild Frontier of Texas. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by the post-rock band Explosions in the Sky (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, Prince Avalanche, Manglehorn). Composer Kris Bowers (Green Book, Bridgerton, Dear White People, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Mrs. America) is reuniting with writer/producer/director Ava DuVernay on the upcoming Netflix limited series Colin in Black and White. The show is created by DuVernay (Selma, A Wrinkle in Time) & athlete/activist Colin Kaepernick (who is also providing the voiceover narration) and stars Jaden Michael, Mary-Louise Parker and Nick Offerman. Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1996 animated feature The Hunchback of Notre Dame directed by Gary Trousdale & Kirk Wise and starring Tom Hulce, Demi Moore, Tony Jay, Kevin Kline, Jason Alexander, Paul Kandel, Charles Kimbrough, Mary Wickes and David Ogden Stiers. The Legacy Collection release coincides with the movie’s 25th anniversary and features the original songs from the film written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Enchanted, Tangled) and featuring lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Wicked), as well as the remastered original score by Menken, including previously unreleased music. Also included are never before released demo recordings of the songs performed by Menken, Schwartz & others. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Maleficent, The Sixth Sense, Signs) has revealed in a recent interview in the latest episode of Score: The Podcast that he is attached to compose music for Lucasfilm’s upcoming Disney+ original series Willow. The show is developed by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story, In the Land of Women) & Wendy Mericle (Arrow) and stars Warwick Davis who returns in the title role, alongside Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Ruby Cruz and Amer Chadha-Patel. The fantasy drama is based on the 1988 feature (produced and written by George Lucas, directed by Ron Howard and scored by James Horner) and will take place years after the events of the film.
