Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) is producing the composers’ music for the show, which is created by Brad Neely (China, IL) and features the voices of Rhea Seehorn, Jason Lee, Ryan Flynn and Tatiana Maslany. The film is directed by Carey Williams and stars Sabrina Carpenter, RJ Cyler, Donald Elise Watkins, Sebastian Chacon, Maddie Nichols, Madison Thompson, Diego Abraham and Melanie Jeffcoat. The movie is based on Williams’ award-winning short film of the same title and follows a group of BIPOC college students, ready for a night of partying, as they weigh the pros and cons of calling the authorities when faced with an unusual emergency. The album features the original end title song Show Me Your Soul performed by Lalah Hathaway & the film’s composer Robert Glasper (Miles Ahead, The Photograph) and co-written by Hathaway, Glasper, Muhammad Ayers and director Melissa Haizlip. The track was shortlisted in the Original Song category at this year’s Academy Awards. Lakeshore Records and INVADA Records have released a soundtrack album for The North Water. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by electronic music artist Tim Hecker (The Free World). The North Water is developed by Andrew Haigh based on Ian McGuirand’s best-selling novel of the same title and stars Jack O’Connell, Colin Farrell, Peter Mullan, Stephen Graham, Sam Spruell and Roland Møller. The 5-parter is set in Hull, England, and on the ice floes of the Arctic in the late 1850s and tells the story of a disgraced ex-army surgeon who signs up as the ship’s doctor on a whaling expedition to the Arctic.
