Roy Mayorga, drummer of Ministry, Hellyeah and Stone Sour, has announced that he has composed the original score for the upcoming horror comedy Studio 666. John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13, The Fog) has written the theme song for the the film, which is directed by BJ McDonnell (Slayer: The Repentless Killogy, Hatched III) and stars all six members of the Foo Fighters (Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett & Rami Jaffee), as well as Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin. The movie follows the Foo Fighters as they move into a haunted San Fernando Valley mansion to record 2021’s Medicine at Midnight, when they find themselves grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band. Lakeshore Records will release for Rebecca Hall’s feature directorial debut Passing. The album features music from and inspired by the film composed by Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & SlimWe Are Who We Are, Palo Alto, Mainstream). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 10 and will be available to stream/download here. Passing is written and directed by Hall and stars Tessa Thompson, Ruth Negga, André Holland and Alexander Skarsgård. The film is directed by Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, The Four Feathers) and stars Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson, Rob Brydon, Asim Chaudhry, Sajal Ali and Shabana Azmi. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French documentary Above Water (Marcher sur l’eau). The album features the film’s original music composed by Uèle Lamore. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (or any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Above Water directed by Aïssa Maïga is set in a tiny village in Niger, one of the sub-Saharan countries hardest hit by global warming and follows a 14-year old girl who travels several kilometers each day under the beating sun to fetch water. MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack EP for the Bosnian war drama Quo Vadis, Aida?. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 12 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Over the last few days, Chanda Dancy (The Defeated, Dramarama, Everything Before Us, After We Leave) has recorded her score for the upcoming Korean war drama Devotion. The film is directed by J.D. Dillard (Sleight, Sweetheart) and stars Jonathan Majors, Glen Powell, Joe Jonas, Thomas Sadoski, Serinda Swan, Daren Kagasoff, Spencer Neville and Nick Hargrove. The movie is based on the bestselling book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship and Sacrifice by Adam Makos and tells the story of two U.S. Navy fighter pilots who are initiated together into the VF-32 squadron and pushed to their limits and whose friendship is tested when one of them is shot down behind enemy lines. Premiering today is the Showtime limited series Dexter: New Blood developed by Clyde Phillips based on the Dexter novels created by Jeff Lindsay and starring Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Jack Alcott, Julia Jones. Johnny Sequoyah, Alano Miller and Clancy Brown. The show’s original score is composed by Pat Irwin (The Good Cop, Feed the Beast, But I’m a Cheerleader, Nurse Jackie, Bored to Death). The crime drama also features additional music by late composer Daniel Licht who scored the original Dexter series. Premiering on Thursday, November 11 is Paramount+’s reboot of The CW’s & BET’s The Game created by Mara Brock Akil and starring Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Adriyan Rae, Vaughn Hebron, Analisa Velez and Toby Sandeman. Kurt Farquhar (Black LightningThe King of Queens,  Sister, Sister, Moesha, Being Mary Jane) who scored the original series  is composing the show’s original music. The drama, which features a mix of new players and original cast and follows the pro-football team as they tackle racism, sexism, classism and more as they fight for fame, fortune, respect and love, will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+.
