MovieScore Media will release the official soundtrack album for British comedy drama The Duke. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee George Fenton (Dangerous LiaisonsGroundhog Day, Hitch, Anna and the KingThe Blue Planet, Ever After). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 25 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Duke is directed by Roger Michell and stars Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren, Fionn Whitehead, Matthew Goode and Anna Maxwell Martin. The movie follows a 60 year-old London cab driver who in 1961 stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery, the only robbery in the museum’s history. Composer Jon Ekstrand is set to reteam with director Daniel Espinosa on the upcoming refugee drama Madame Luna. The film chronicles the true story of an Eritrean refugee girl, washed ashore in Libya, who becomes one of the most notorious of human traffickers with deep ties to the Italian Mafia. Casting announcements are expected within the next few months. Maurizio Braucci (Gomorrah, Martin Eden, Piranha) and Suha Arraf (Lemon Tree) wrote the screenplay based on an idea by Binyam Berhane. The album features the film’s original music composed by Laurent Perez Del Mar (The Red TurtleI Kill Giants, The Mystery of Henri Pick, Zarafa) who previously scored the original 2017 French feature of the same title.
