Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French horror movie The Grandmother (La abuela). The album features the film’s original music composed by Fatima Al Qadiri (Atlantics). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. A vinyl edition is available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website. The Grandmother is directed by Paco Plaza (REC), written by Carlos Vermut and stars Almudena Amor and Vera Valdez. The Apache Films production follows a Paris model who returns to Madrid where her grandmother who had brought her up, just had a stroke and whose stay with her relative turns into a waking nightmare. The movie is directed by Alejandro Brugués (Juan of the Dead) and stars Bob Gunton, Rachel Nichols, Austin Stowell, Briana Middleton, David Walton, Reese Alexander and Peyton List. The horror film follows a billionaire who, on the eve of his 75th birthday, invites his four estranged children back home out of fear that tonight someone – or something – is coming to kill him and puts each of their inheritances on the line to ensure his family will help protect him. MovieScore Media’s Reality Bytes has released a soundtrack album for the documentary A Cops and Robbers Story. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ruben De Gheselle (Clara Sola). A Cops and Robbers Story is directed by Ilinca Calugareanu and centers on Corey Pegues who was embroiled in a life of crime as a member of New York City’s infamous Supreme Team gang in the 1980s and fled the city, only to return years later as a rising star in the NYPD. The romantic comedy musical is set in New York City in the waning days of 1999 and tells the story of one ordinary couple, as they fall in love and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves. The show is written by Steven Levenson (tick, tick… BOOM!, Dear Evan Hansen) (who also serves as the project’s showrunner)  & Danielle Sanchez-Witzel and directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Fosse/Verdon). The film is written and directed by Sarah Polley (Away from Her, Take This Waltz) and stars Frances McDormand, Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Sheila McCarthy, Judith Ivey, Michelle McLeod, August Winter, Liv McNeil, Kate Hallett and Ben Whishaw. The movie is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Miriam Toews and follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony as they struggle to reconcile their faith with a series of sexual assaults committed by the colony’s men. The album features the film’s original score composed by Alex Baranowski (The Windmere Children, True Things, A Christmas Carol, Staged). Premiering tonight is the Showtime original docuseries We Need to Talk About Cosby directed by W. Kamau Bell about Bill Cosby’s descent from “America’s Dad” to alleged sexual predator. . The film’s original music is composed by Vernon Reid (of Living Colour) (Paid in Full, Free Angela and all Political Prisoners). The 4-parter, which features interviews with comedians, journalists and Cosby survivors about the man, his career and his crimes, premiered last week at the 2022 Sundance Festival and will debut exclusively on Showtime.

Premiering on Wednesday, February 2, is the Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy developed by Robert Siegel & DV DeVincentis and starring Lily James, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Spencer Granese, Pepi Sonuga and Mozhan Marnò. The show is developed by Rob Williams (The Victim) based on the Israeli series False Flag and stars Uma Thurman, Kunal Nayyar, Noah Emmerich, Georgina Campbell, Elyes Gabel, Elizabeth Henstridge, Tom Rhys-Harries and Angel Coulby. The 8-part thriller follows four seemingly ordinary British citizens trying to prove their innocence when the son of a prominent American businesswoman is kidnapped at the New York hotel in which they are staying. Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the new television adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic novel Around the World in 80 Days. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Christian Lundberg (Snatch, Earth at Night in ColorEleven Eleven) for Bleeding Fingers Music. Also included the series’ theme by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Dune) and Lundberg. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 30 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services.
