Netflix Music has released an EP featuring four songs from the sixth season of the Netflix original series Virgin River. Mel & Jack’s Wedding Mixtape includes the original song This Heart of Mine written and performed by The Lumineers’ Wesley Schultz (previously released as a digital single), a cover of the track by Callum Kerr, a cover of Boffalongo’s Dancing in the Moonlight by The Promised, as well as another song (Me and You) performed by The Promised. The EP is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the songs after the jump. ‘Wicked’ Sing-Along Soundtrack Album Released

Republic Records & Verve Label Group have released a third soundtrack album for the first part of the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked. The “Sing-Along” album features instrumental versions of all eleven songs from the movie written (originally for the stage show) by Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Pippin, Pocahontas). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Listen to the “sing-along” versions of Popular and Defying Gravity after the jump. Robbie Williams’ Original Song ‘Forbidden Road’ from ‘Bettter Man’ Disqualified from Oscar Consideration

The Academy has notified members of the music branch that the Oscar-shortlisted original song Forbidden Road from the biographical musical drama Better Man has been disqualified. The track co-written (with Freddy Wexler & Sacha Skarbek and produced by Dan Romer & Wexler) and performed by Robbie Williams was found to feature “material from an existing song that was not written for this film.” The existing title has been identified as the Jim Croce song I Got A Name written by Academy governor Charles Fox & Norman Gimbel for the 1973 feature The Last American Hero. This week, Christopher Lennertz (The Boys, Lost in Space, Sausage Party, Ride Along, Tom & Jerry, Agent Carter, Supernatural) has recorded his score for the upcoming heist comedy The Pickup. The film is directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop) and stars Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, Pete Davidson, Andrew Dice Clay, Eva Longoria, Jack Kesy, Ismael Cruz Cordova, and Marshawn Lynch. ‘Homestead’ Soundtrack Album Released

Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Homestead. The album features the film’s original score composed by Benjamin Backus (A Week Away, Valiant One).
