Expanded ‘Red Sonja’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1985 fantasy adventure Red Sonja directed by Richard Fleischer and starring Brigitte Nielsen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Paul L. Smith and Ronald Lacey. The album features the expanded and remastered original music from the Dino De Laurentiis production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Mission, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Hateful Eight, Cinema Paradiso), including the content of the original soundtrack album in stereo and the composer’s complete score in mono. The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2022 World Soundtrack Awards in the categories of Film Composer of the Year, Television Composer of the Year and Best Original Song. The winners will be announced at the 22nd World Soundtrack Awards ceremony, which will take place at the renovated Concert Hall of Music Centre De Bijloke in Ghent on October 22, 2022. Mark Isham has previously been announced as guest of honor and Bruno Coulais will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The rest of the nominations will be revealed in September.
