RTL Music Publishing has released a soundtrack album for the German limited series Two Sides of the Abyss (Zwei Seiten des Abgrunds). The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Annette Focks (Night Train to Lisbon, 55 Steps, Silent Heart, Sweethearts, In Harm’s Way). Also included is the song Time to Sleep performed by Schwarz & Mark Pinhasov (listen to the track after the jump). Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, The Motorcycle Diaries, Babel, The Book of Life) is set to score the upcoming Mexican Netflix original film Pedro Páramo. The movie marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman) and stars Manuel García-Rulfo in the title role, alongside Tenoch Huerta, Ilse Salas, Mayra Batalla, Roberto Sosa, Héctor Kotsifakis, Dolores Heredia, Noé Hernández, Giovanna Zacarías and Yoshira Escárrega. The drama is based on the novel by Juan Rulfo about a man who travels to his recently deceased mother’s hometown to find his father, only to come across a literal ghost town. Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1989 animated feature Asterix and the Big Fight (Astérix et le Coup du Menhir) directed by Philippe Grimond and produced by Yannick Piel. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Michel Colombier (The Golden Child, The Money Pit, Against All Odds, Purple Rain), including previously unreleased music and alternate cues. The CD, which is limited to 500 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Decca Classics has released the official album of The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III & Queen Camilla. The album produced by Anna Barry features all the music from the historic ceremony recorded this past Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey, including the newly composed pieces of music (six orchestral commissions, five choral commissions and one organ commission). Among the the commissions are pieces by film/TV composers Patrick Doyle (Sense and Sensibility, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Cinderella, Henry V), Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Wolf Hall, Vampire Killers, Adventures of Arsene Lupin) and Nigel Hess (Maigret, Ladies in Lavender). Netflix has released the official music video for the orchestral version of If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys from the Netflix limited series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. The cover was recorded with a newly formed 74-piece Global Orchestra, made up entirely of women of color, on the 20th anniversary of the song. The track is now available as a digital single on all major digital music platforms (including Amazon) and is also included on the Covers from the Netflix Series soundtrack album, which has been released last Thursday.
