Balcoon has released a soundtrack album for the French/Senegalese/Malian romantic drama Banel & Adama. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bachar Mar-Khalifé (Skies of Lebanon, My Brothers and I). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. Banel & Adama is written and directed by Ramata-Toulaye Sy and stars Khady Mane, Mamadou Diallo, Moussa Sow, Binta Racine Sy, Ndiabel Diallo, Oumar Samba Dia and Amadou Ndiaye. The movie is set against the terrestrial majesty of the Sahel and follows two lovers on a quest for self-possession in the face of tradition. The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and just opened in French theaters yesterday. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
