Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller Silent Night directed by John Woo and starring Joel Kinnaman, Scott Mescudi, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Harold Torres. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma,  Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, The Hurt Locker, Ford v. Ferrari, The Wolverine). La-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score later this month. Also opening wide is the Japanese Japanese monster movie Godzilla Minus One written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki and starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Sakura Ando, Kuranosuke Sasaki and Hidetaka Yoshioka.  Naoki Sato (Rurouni Kenshin, Pretty Cure, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Masquerade Night) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last month when the movie opened in Japan. Matthew Margeson (Kingsman, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Rocketman, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, Eddie the Eagle, Pam & Tommy) has been tapped to score RoboForce: The Animated Series. The show inspired by the action figures is set in 2089 and follows Maxx 89 and the rest of RoboForce trying to save the day when a rogue code infected the Utopia Aegis 101’s to turn on humanity. Brian Volk-Weiss (Behind the Attraction) is directing and is also executive producing the project with Nacelle’s Cisco Henson, Matt Kravitsky, Michael Goodman, Tom Stern & Gavin Hignight, as well as Seven Bucks Productions’ Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Rampage) & Hiram Garcia (Black Adam, Jungle Cruise) and Brian Gewirtz (Young Rock). ‘The Boy and the Heron’ Soundtrack Album Released

Studio Ghibli has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the animated feature The Boy and the Heron. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Departures). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. A CD/vinyl edition has previously been released in Japan this past summer. Available separately as a digital single is Kenshi Yonezu’s theme song Spinning Globe. The Boy and the Heron is written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and tells the story of a young boy yearning for his mother who ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. ‘Pleasantville’ Deluxe Edition Score Album Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1998 comedy drama Pleasantville written and directed by Gary Ross and starring Tobey Maguire, Reese Witherspoon, Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels, William H. Macy, J. T. Walsh and Don Knotts. The album features the expanded Academy Award-nominated original score from the composed by Randy Newman (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Marriage Story, Avalon, A Bug’s Life, Cars), including over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. ‘Money Heist’ (‘La Casa de Papel’) Soundtrack Album Released

Netflix Music has released the first soundtrack album for the streamer’s Spanish hit series Money Heist (La casa de papel). The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Manel Santisteban & Iván M. Lacámara (Sky Rojo, Vis a Vis). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Check out several tracks below. Money Heist is created by Álex Pina and stars Úrsula Corberó, Álvaro Morte, Itziar Ituño, Pedro Alonso, Jaime Lorente, Miguel Herrán, Darko Perić, Esther Acebo and Hovik Keuchkerian. The album features the film’s expanded original score composed by Academy Award nominee David Newman (Ice Age, Galaxy Quest, Anastasia, The Flintstones, The Nutty Professor, The War of the Roses), including around 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. The album features the music from the film, including original score cues composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Equalizer 3, Emancipation, The Affair, Ray Donovan), as well as tracks from the 1971 feature The Go-Between written by Michel Legrand (The Thomas Crown Affair, Never Say Never Again, Summer of ’42, Yentl), which have been adapted by Zarvos into his score. John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Shrek, Rio, United 93, Happy Feet, Bolt, Don’t Worry Darling) is currently scoring the upcoming animated feature That Christmas. The film directed by Simon Otto is based on filmmaker Richard Curtis’ best-selling series of children’s books, which tell multiple interweaved stories of love, loneliness, family and friends. Curtis (Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral) also co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Souter. Nicole P. ‘Mog’s Christmas’ Soundtrack Album Details

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the Channel 4 animated special Mog’s Christmas. The album features the film’s original score composed by Grammy Award and Emmy Award winner David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies, Sherlock, Hot Fuzz, Godzilla, The World Is Not Enough, Good Omens). Also included is the project’s theme song As Long as I Belong written by Arnold, with lyrics by Don Black and performed by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 1 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Mog’s Christmas is directed by Robin Shaw and features the voices of Adjoa Andoh (as the narrator), Claire Foy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Maggie Steed, Miriam Margolyes, Zawe Ashton, Gareth Berliner, Charlie Higson, Tacy Kneale, Amelie Law and Teddy Skelton.
