Premiering tonight is the HBO original series  The Chair Company created by Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin and starring Robinson himself, Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Joseph Tudisco and Will Price. The show’s original music is composed by Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat LoudA Teacher, I’ll See You in My Dreams, The ThreesomeDivorce, Morris from America, Sorry for Your Loss, The Hero, Love Again). The show is created by Sally Wainwright (Gentleman Jack, Renegade Nell) and stars Joanna Scanlan, Rosalie Craig, Tamsin Greig, Amelia Bullmore, Lorraine Ashbourne, Taj Atwal, Chandeep Uppal and Macy Seelochan. The punk duo ARXX has contributed original songs to the 6-part series, which follows a teacher, a police officer, a midwife, a pub landlady and a shoplifting freeloader who form a female punk rock band to take part in a local talent contest and suddenly find they have a lot more to shout about than they ever imagined. The first spinoff to the network’s Fire Country is developed by Joan Rater & Tony Phelan (Grey’s Anatomy, A Small Light) and actor Max Thieriot and stars Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, Michele Weaver, W. Earl Brown, Christopher Gorham, as well as Thieriot & Diane Farr who reprise their roles from the original series. The show follows the the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief as she investigates criminal activity while she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater, contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi sequel TRON: Ares directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Gillian Anderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Arturo Castro and Jeff Bridges. The film’s original music is composed by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social NetworkSoul, ChallengersGone Girl, WatchmenThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Nine Inch Nails. Interscope Records & The Null Corporation have released a soundtrack album featuring the band’s score and songs last month. Also opening nationwide this weekend is the crime comedy drama Roofman directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang and Peter Dinklage. Christopher Bear (of the rock band Grizzly Bear) (Past Lives, High MaintenanceAdults, Mother, CouchSwallowedThe Passenger) has composed the film’s original score. A soundtrack album will be released by Varese Sarabande according to the movie’s end credits, but no details have been announced yet. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and will be released digitally tomorrow, October 11. Check back on this page for the streaming/download link. The Strangers: Chapter 2 is directed by Renny Harlin and stars Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath. The second part of the trilogy  follows the sole survivor of The Strangers’ murdering spree of the previous night as she tries to survive the continued attack from the masked killers while reckoning with the ways that these events are transforming her into someone else. Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, A Million Little Things, Rosewood, Better Nate Than Never, RectifyHigh School Musical: The Musical – The Series) is scoring the new CBS comedy DMV. The show is developed by Dana Klein based on a short story by Katherine Heiny and stars Harriet Dyer, Tim Meadows, Tony Cavalero, Alex Tarrant, Molly Kearney and Gigi Zumbado. Sparks & Shadows Records has released a digital single featuring two songs from the Deathstalker reboot. The soundtrack includes the film’s title song (in two different versions) featuring Emmy Award-winning composer Bear McCreary and Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash leading an all-star band comprised of singer Brendan McCreary, original Deathstalker II composer Chuck Cirino, drummer Gene “The Atomic Clock” Hoglan, bassist Pete Griffin and guitarist Omer Ben-Zvi, as well as the song Walking Alone by Danish actress and singer/songwriter Nina Bergman and multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy. The 3-track single is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Walt Disney Records has released the original song Zoo from Walt Disney Pictures Animation’s sequel Zootopia 2. The track is co-written (with Ed Sheeran & Blake Slatkin), -produced (with Slatkin, Alex (A.C.) Castillo & Sheeran) and performed by Shakira and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. A 7″ single on purple translucent glitter vinyl will be released on November 21 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A full soundtrack album featuring the song and 23 tracks of Michael Giacchino’s original score will also be coming out on the same day. Zootopia 2 is directed by Jared Bush & Byron Howard and features the voice talent of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Quinta Brunson, Fortune Feimster,Ke Huy Quan, Idris Elba, Shakira herself, Macaulay Culkin, Patrick Warburton and Nate Torrence. The album features the film’s original score composed by Roddy Hart & Tommy Reilly (Anna and the Apocalypse, Coldwater, Our LadiesAgatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases). Also included is the original title song (previously released as a digital single last month) written by the composers and performed by KT Tunstall.
