German music producer/DJ Boys Noize (aka Alex Ridha) is set to make his solo feature scoring debut on the upcoming psychological horror thriller Replacer. The film is directed by actor Avan Jogia and will star Halsey, Karl Glusman and Juliette Gariépy. The movie follows a troubled DJ who gets stranded in Montreal, where he meets an alluring artist and his group of friends who run an underground radio station that becomes warped by a mysterious signal hidden deep beneath the city’s subway system. Kyle Mann (Edge of Winter, The New Romantics) is producing the project for Independent Edge, alongside Isabelle Deluce for Soft Focus Films and Olivier Picard and David Pierrat (When Adan Changes) for Parce Que Films. Lily Wachowski (The Matrix, Speed Racer) is among the executive producers. Ridha has previously contributed a song to the 2014 German feature Who Am I and a new remix to Oliver Stone’s Snowden. More recently, he also created remixes of tracks from Trent Reznor’s & Atticus Ross’ scores from Challengers and Tron: Ares. Replacer will begin principal photography later this month in Montreal.
