Grammy Award-winning Icelandic singer/songwriter Laufey has recorded an original song for the action adventure comedy Red One. The track, entitled Christmas Magic, is co-written by Laufey & Spencer Stewart and will be featured in the movie directed by Jake Kasdan and starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, Bonnie Hunt, Kiernan Shipka,Kristofer Hivju, Wesley Kimmel, Nick Kroll and J.K. Simmons. The film (scored by Henry Jackman) follows North Pole’s Head of Security who must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter in a mission to save Christmas. Waxwork Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1974 horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre co-written and directed by Tobe Hooper and starring Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow and Gunnar Hansen. The album features the film’s original score composed by Hooper and Wayne Bell (Eaten Alive, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically (on vinyl, CD and and cassette) in the coming months to coincide with the movie’s 50th anniversary. Diane Warren is writing original songs for the upcoming Disney Channel/Disney+ original series How We Became the Biggest Band in the World. The Honorary Academy Award-winning songwriter also serves as executive producer on the show, which stars Lumi Pollack, Carmen Sanchez, Ruby Marino and Nathaniel Buescher. The drama follows three members of a mega-famous pop group, Electric Bloom, as they look back and tell the story of their band and friendship, starting with the day they all met in middle school. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1974 classic The Godfather Part II co-written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Morgana King, Talia Shire and John Cazale. The album features the original music from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Academy Award winner Nina Rota (8 1/2La Dolce Vita, War & Peace, Romeo & Juliet), including previously unreleased and unused music. The 2-CD set includes the expanded score presentation, as well additional and source cues by Rota on the first disc, and the remastered original soundtrack album, as well as bonus tracks that showcase music by Carmine Coppola and a rare demo recording by Rota on the second disc. Milan Records has released the full soundtrack album for the animated feature Flow. The album features the film’s original music composed by director Gints Zilbalodis (Away) and Rihards Zalupe (The Pagan King). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services. The label has previously released two first tracks from the score this past August. Flow co-written and directed by Zilbalodis is set in a world that seems to be coming to an end and follows a courageous cat after his home is devastated by a great flood who teams up with a capybara, a lemur, a dog, and a bird who navigate a boat in search of dry land and must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet.
