Michael Brook (The Fighter, Into the Wild) has recently co-written the music for the upcoming romantic drama The Vow. As reported last year, Rachel Portman has also been working on the project. The movie starring Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, Sam Neill, Scott Speedman, Wendy Crewson and Jessica Lange centers on a newlywed couple that recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband endeavors to win her heart again. The film is directed by Michael Suscy who worked with Portman on the Emmy-winning drama Grey Gardens. Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum, Jonathan Glickman and Paul Taublieb are producing The Vow. Screen Gems has set a release date for the drama on February 10, 2012. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Sarah’s Key’ Soundtrack announced

Milan Records will be releasing the soundtrack album for the French drama Sarah’s Key. The album includes the original score from the film composed by Max Richter, as well as several songs from the film by artists including Frehel, Loren Wilfong and Sarah Ber. The soundtrack will be released on June 19 and will be available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all track on the album below. Sarah’s Key (Elle s’appelait Sarah) is directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and stars Kristin Scott Thomas as an American journalist living in Paris, Melusine Mayance and Niels Arestrup. ‘Fright Night’ Soundtrack Coming in August

Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming horror comedy Fright Night. The album includes the score from the film written by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans). The soundtrack will be released on August 16, 2011. More details about the album are expected in a couple of weeks. Fright Night is directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) and stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Please, David Tennant and Toni Collette. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has published the acceptance speeches at this year’s ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards. As reported last month, Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive) received the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which was handed to him by director David Lynch at the event on June 23, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Varese Sarabande has announced the details for the soundtrack release for J.J. Abrams’ Super 8. The album features the original score by Michael Giacchino, including one cue not contained in the film. As reported in May, the soundtrack was originally supposed to come out on June 28, but the release date has been pushed back a few times and is now set for August 2, 2011. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. Super 8 is produced by Steven Spielberg and stars Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka, Ron Eldard, Kyle Chandler and Noah Emmerich.
