Mark Suozzo has recently recorded his score for the indie comedy Damsels in Distress. The movie written and directed by Whit Stillman stars Greta Gerwig, Adam Brody, Analeigh Tipton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Carrie MacLemore and Hugo Becker. In the film, a trio of beautiful girls set out to revolutionize life at a grungy American university by helping severely depressed students with a program of good hygiene and musical dance numbers. Adam Schlesinger (Music and Lyrics) is also contributing music to the project and is producing a number of songs for the film. Conrad Pope’s ‘The Presence’ Soundtrack Announced

Screamworks Records has announced a soundtrack album for the indie horror thriller The Presence. The album features the original score by Conrad Pope (Pavilion of Women, the upcoming My Week with Marilyn). The soundtrack will be released both on CD and digitally on October 4, 2011. The Presence is written and directed by Tom Provost and stars Mina Sorvino, Shane West and Tony Curran. The movie centers on a woman who travels to an isolated cabin where she finds herself stalked by an apparition who has come to inhabit her space as his own. Three new movies are opening wide this Labor Day weekend:
Opening in almost 3000 theaters is the horror thriller Shark Night 3D directed by David R. Ellis and starring Sara Paxton, Dustin Milligan, Katharine McPhee, Donal Logue, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz and Joel David Moore. The movie’s score is written by Graeme Revell. A soundtrack album featuring Revell’s music has been released earlier this week by Cutting Edge. Already in theater since Wednesday is the political thriller The Debt directed by John Madden and starring Helen Mirren, Sam Worthington and Tom Wilkinson. The composer of the film is Thomas Newman. Jacob Groth to Score ‘Unforgettable’

Jacob Groth is the composer of the new CBS crime drama Unforgettable. The show is based on J. Robert Lennon’s short story The Rememberer and adapted for television by Ed Redlich (Withot a Trace) and John Bellucci. The series stars Poppy Montgomery as a former New York City police detective who suffers from hyperthymesia, a rare medical condition that gives her the ability to remember everything. Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck), Kevin Rankin (Trauma), Michael Gaston and Daya Vaidaya are co-starring. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman (Kidnapped) are producing the project with Redlch and Bellucci. Nathan Johnson Scoring ‘Looper’

Nathan Johnson is currently scoring the sci-fi action thriller Looper. The movie is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels and Piper Perabo. The project reunites Johnson with his regular producing partners Ram Bergman and James D. Stern. The film centers on a killer who works for the mob of the future and disposes of people who are sent from the future. When he recognizes one victim as his future self, he hesitates and lets him escape. Nathan is the cousin of Rian Johnson and has previously written the music for the director’s other two features Brick and The Brothers Bloom. Looper is scheduled to be released on September 28, 2012 by FilmDistrict and TriStar.
