Craig Wedren is reteaming with writer/director David Wain on the upcoming comedy They Came Together. The film stars Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Ed Helms, Max Greenfield, Cobie Smulders, Christopher Meloni, Melanie Lynskey, Michael Ian Black and Michael Shannon. The movie has been described as a parody of romantic comedies and follows a corporate businessman whose company is threatening to shut down a small store. The details of the soundtrack album for Judd Apatow’s comedy This is 40 have been revealed. The album features original songs by Norah Jones, Fiona Apple, Graham Parker and Lindsey Buckingham (all produced by Jon Brion), as well as new tracks from Wilco and Ryan Adams created specifically for the film. Also featured are tracks from Paul Simon, Loudon Wainwright, Yoko Ono, and The Avett Brothers, as well as a theme from the original score composed by Jon Brion (Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind). The soundtrack will be released on December 11, 2012 by Capitol Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Jonathan Goldsmith has recently recorded his score for the psychological thriller Compulsion. The film is directed by Egidio Coccimiglio and stars Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss as two neighbors dealing with obsessions that have taken over each of their lives. Joe Mantegna and Kevin Dillon are co-starring Floyd Byars (Masterminds) has written the screenplay based on the South Korean film 301, 302 and Gary Howsam (The Tudors) and Bill Marks are producing the project. Henry Jackman to Score ‘The End of the World’

Henry Jackman is currently scoring the upcoming apocalyptic comedy The End of the World. The film marks the directorial debut of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg who have previously co-written such films as Superbad, Pineapple Express and The Green Hornet. Rogen also stars in the movie alongside James Franco, Jonah Hill, Emma Watson, Jay Baruchel, Jason Segel, Rihanna, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Aziz Ansari, David Krumholtz, Kevin Hart and Michael Cera who all play themselves facing the apocalypse while stuck at Franco’s apartment. Bret McKenzie to Write New Songs for ‘The Muppets 2’

Producer Todd Lieberman has revealed in an interview with Collider (via The Playlist) that he will be returning to write new songs for Disney’s upcoming sequel The Muppets 2. McKenzie has written the original songs for last year’s hit reboot of the franchise and ended up winning an Academy Award for the song Man or Muppet. James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords) who directed the first part is returning to direct the sequel. He is also co-writing the script with Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). It has recently been announced that Christoph Waltz will play an interpol agent. Lieberman is producing again with David Hoberman (The Fighter, The Proposal). No word yet on whether composer Christophe Beck will also be returning to write the score. The Muppets 2 is set to be released towards the end of 2013.

Atli Orvarsson has recently reunited with director Olatunde Osunsanmi on the upcoming thriller Evidence. The film stars Stephen Moyer, Radha Mitchell, Nolan Gerard Funk, Dale Dickey, Caitlin Stasey, Torrey DeVitto, Albert Kuo and Harry Lennix. The movie follows a detective who hunts down a killer using video footage shot by the victims of a massacre at an abandoned gas station. John Swetnam has written the screenplay. John Swihart is scoring the upcoming FOX comedy The Goodwin Games. The show is created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and stars Scott Foley, Becki Newton, T. J. Miller, Kat Foster and Melissa Tang. The series follows three grown siblings who return home after their father’s death, and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit a vast fortune – if they adhere to their late father’s wishes. Bays and Thomas have previously created and are executive producing the CBS hit comedy How I Met Your Mother, which Swihart has been scoring for the past seven years. They are also executive producing The Goodwin Games with Chris Harris and Peyton Reed (The Break-Up, Bring It On) who also directed the pilot episode.
