Chris Tilton is scoring the pilot for the sci-fi cop buddy cop drama Human. The show is created by J.H. Wyman (The Mexican, Dead Man Down) and stars Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby. The project is set in the near future when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids and follows a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission that claimed the lives of nine of his fellow elite officers. Concert Line-Up Announced for International Film Music Festival in Cordoba 2013

The full details of three major concerts at this year’s International Film Music Festival in Cordoba have been announced. On June 28, the festival will host its first Elmer Bernstein Award Gala Concert, where Marco Beltrami will be the recipient of the new Elmer Bernstein Award. Peter Bernstein will conduct a tribute to Elmer and there will be a 60 minute concert program devoted to the film music of Beltrami, including performances of such scores as Hellboy, I, Robot, Soul Surfer and the upcoming Snowpiercer. On June 27, another concert entitled The Best of the Best will be held and feature music of Academy Award-winning composers Mychael Danna (Life of Pi) and Rachel Portman (Emma), as well as Peter Bernstein (The Ewok Adventure), Alfons Conde (The Abandoned) and Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust). Junkie XL has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming action sequel 300: Rise of an Empire. The film is directed by Noam Murro and stars Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell and Lena Headey are co-starring. The movie follows the Greek general Themistocles as he battles an invading army of Persians under turned-god Xerxes. The original movie’s director Zack Snyder co-wrote the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad (Act of Valor, 300) based on Frank Miller’s novel and is also producing the Legendary Films production with Mark Canton & Gianni Nunnari (300, Immortals), Bernie Goldmann, Deborah Snyder (Man of Steel, Watchmen) and Thomas Tull (42, Pacific Rim). Riz Ortolani to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Ghent Film Festival

Riz Ortolani has been selected as the 13th recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the the closing-night gala of the World Soundtrack Awards at the Ghent Film Fest on October 19, 2013. The Italian composer is best known for his scores to numerous spaghetti westerns and international films including the 1980 horror film Hannibal Holocaust and the British drama The 7th Dawn. Ortolani received a Grammy and an Academy Award nomination for the song More from the 1962 documentary Mondo Cane and was honored with another Oscar nomination for writing the title song for the 1970 western Madron. The details of the soundtrack album for Nicolas Winding-Refn’s upcoming thriller Only God Forgives have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Cliff Martinez (Traffic, Solaris) who previously scored the director’s last feature Drive. Also included is the song You Are My Dream by the Thai band PROUD, which was used in the film’s trailer. The soundtrack will be released on May 20, 2013 in France, where the movie is opening later this month. Milan Records will release a soundtrack in the US closer to the domestic release in July. Only God Forgives stars Ryan Gosling as the scion of a drug-smuggling family who runs a Thai boxing club and is sent on a quest for vengeance by his mother. Relativity Music Group will release a soundtrack album for the crime thriller The Iceman. The album features the film’s original score composed by Haim Mazar. Also included is the end titles song No Looking Back by Crash Kings. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 7, 2013. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next couple of days. The Iceman is directed by Ariel Vromen and stars Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, James Franco, Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer, Robert Davi and Danny Abeckaser. The movie tells the true story of notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men.
