William Ross is the composer of the upcoming sports family drama 50 to 1. The film is directed by Jim Wilson who is best known as an Academy Award-winning producer of such films as Dances with Wolves and The Bodyguard and whose previous directing credits include 1996’s Head Above Water. The movie starring Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane, William Devane, Madelyn Deutch and Calvin Borel tells the true story of Kentucky Derby longshot Mine That Bird who won the Derby in 2009 and went on to finish second in the Preakness and third in the Belmont that year. Only one new movie is opening wide this weekend:
Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the superhero sequel Iron Man 3 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Eagle Eye, Fast Five, The Expendables). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. The film’s original score is composed by Johan Soderqvist who has previously collaborated with the director on such films as After the Wedding and Brothers. ‘Epic’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Classics will release the official soundtrack album for Blue Sky Studios’ new animated feature Epic. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 13, 2013. A CD version is set to come out on May 28 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available below. Epic is directed by Chris Wedge and follows a teenage girl who finds herself magically transported into a secret universe and must band together with a rag-tag team of whimsical characters in order to save their world. The film’s voice talent includes Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Christoph Waltz, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Aziz Ansari, Blake Anderson, Judah Friedlander and Beyoncé Knowles. Brian Tyler has signed on to score the pilot for the Fox drama Sleepy Hollow. The show is created by Alex Kurtzman & Bob Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) and Phillip Iscove and stars Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, Orlando Jones, John Cho and Katia Winter. The supernatural thriller is based on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow and follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s Detective Abbie Archer to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil. Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld) has directed the pilot. Kurtzman & Orci are producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Wiseman and Heather Kadin. David Wingo and Jeff McIlwain are reuniting with director David Gordon Green on his latest feature Joe. The Southern drama stars Nicolas Cage and Tye Sheridan and follows an ex-con who becomes the unlikeliest of role models to a 15-year-old child of a homeless family ruled by a drunk father. Gary Hawkins wrote the screenplay based on the novel of the same title by Larry Brown. Lisa Muskat (Compliance), Gordon Green and Christopher Woodrow (The Immigrant) are producing the project with Derrick Tseng (Palindromes). Wingo and McIlwain previously shared scoring duties on Gordon Green’s Snow Angels and The Sitter, while Wingo also scored the director’s George Washington and All the Real Girls.
